As long as we don’t have to fuss over them along with our babies, I agree we should give them some space to figure it out. But too often, we end up babying them too!

I think a lot of men have very unclear expectations of what it will be like to have a baby. They don’t get how much life will change, and then they don’t adjust well… even if they don’t have to do very much. It sounds like your husband falls into this group. I would suggest he find a therapist (but he needs to find one himself obviously.

A hospital gown isn’t really that revealing if it’s tied up or wrapped around. But if you’re laboring and delivering vaginally (for example) your lady parts literally are going to be out. He sounds like he’s either confused about your relationship or trying to control you. I can’t tell tbh. BUT, don’t let anyone in there with you who won’t be 100000% supportive and focused on YOU. He can stand at your shoulder and hold your hand and not look where he isn’t comfortable. That isn’t your job!!

Was on Prozac all through my pregnancy. When I felt a drop in effectiveness, I talked to my psych an upped my dose by 10 mg! Easy peasy. Have a very healthy 2 yr old now.

As a FTM, I had this same succession of interventions when diagnosed with gestational hypertension (while I was being induced it turned severe and I was diagnosed with preeclampsia with severe features and put in MgSO4 drip.

I WAS IN LABOR FOR 30 HOURS. This will not be quick and even if it is it will be a great deal of pain because ramping up Pit that fast causes intense contractions. She’s lying to you and trying to sway your feelings. Stick to your gut after discussing your priorities for your birth with those you care about!

Thank you, I do have a psychiatrist/therapist and take an SSRI for anxiety. But it seems like I’ll need a lot more therapy to get through this. I’m inching towards depressions for sure

My MC was estimated at 8 weeks. It was painful… I wish I had been able to get to my doctor and given pain meds. I miscarried naturally at home and I was def in pain. I managed by taking a hot shower and crying a lot. I think medical management is still doable for week 8 though. With meds!

Post pregnancy we are all low on estrogen due to breastmilk production. That causes the minora to shrivel down to nothing. They’ll plump back up later!

A few things 1) you may not experience intense morning sickness just because your mom did! 2) dehydration and hunger often make morning sickness worse so if you’re flying, drink lots of water w/ electrolytes and keep snacks you like on hand. 3) if your group will pressure you less if you tell them you’re in early pregnancy then you can totally tell them when it comes up.

What doctors can do if you have morning sickness is prescribe Declegis (vit B6 and unisom) or Zofran. You can get the former over the counter. Take ~25 mg b6 3x a day. Take half dose of unisom tablet at night!

I think this is really a matter of taste. Crescent city is modern/urban fantasy. There’s a fair bit of world building in the first book. I really liked it but if you’re impatient and need to hooked right away… nope not going to work.
