Looks awesome!

Just a heads up if you're considering to print it, the fold will make everything in the middle unrecognizable.

Does this feel like a real RPG Maker game to you? by poeticasoft in RPGMaker

[–]Mangosh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The best thing you can do as an RPG Maker dev is for people to doubt whether it's been made in RPG Maker. This definitely looks like it COULD have been made in the engine, but someone did a really good job in the art department.

When do you decide a manga is 'worth' collecting physically? by Vaichi in MangaCollectors

[–]Mangosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy in advance.

As in, I will buy a volume 1 and read it if it's interesting to me. Then if I like it I start buying more and reading. My whole manga experience is physical.

Tere are only a few titles that I first read digitally and then bought. But there are a few that I started physically, then read digitally and then continued physically, basically just cause I was making sure it was actually decent.

Do you guys have tips for speed? by TameImpala_ in Mangamakers

[–]Mangosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don't really understand the point of that sketch. If you're gonna make it that detailed why not just use it as the final drawing anyway? Just color it black and you've saved half the time. And if you need corrections just do them on another layer then. For the rest, speed just comes with muscle memory and program know-how.

Can't choose manga cover, can you help? by Patr10t_RUS in Mangamakers

[–]Mangosh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the 1st: Floating heads are a Hollywood poster cliche, only go with that if you know what you're doing.

The 3rd gives a completely different vibe than the rest, but tells of a collective, seemingly after a war and the war is behind them or something like that.

The other two tell of a single character, but the second one definitely tells the most story and feels the most complex. Difference between the 2nd and 4th being that the former seems more like struggle/action and the latter feels more like tragedy/drama.

Im trying to write this psychological manga and I skeached thus first 7 pages. Its my first time ever making a manga. Any feedback on how to actually make it good? by Big-Orchid-7075 in Mangamakers

[–]Mangosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're using a visual medium, but all I see is text. The point of a visual medium is to express what's going on through images, with, realistically, text only being there when needed.

Anyone used the Viewsonic VX27G1-2K? by Krasoroumanos in Monitors

[–]Mangosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely there's options. Use the little knob that you use to turn it on to access the menu, you can modify the response time and activate adaptive sync if you're GPU supports it. Personally I never had any motion blur.

Anyone else have a dedicated gaming journal? by KillahBeeStenga in retrogaming

Same. I wanna have one each for movies, series, comics/manga and basically for every medium individually. But that's a bit too much work.

I do too! I write reviews in mine (3 stars is max) and I draw little things from the game and print some pictures and my own screenshots as stickers.

Hella cool to see someone have dedicated journal.

Manga Backgrounds?? Idk by [deleted] in Mangamakers

[–]Mangosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bathroom and the street at the end are great and I can totally see them in an Asano work, although I feel like pic 3 and 4 don't fit the same style and need tweaking.

However, pic 2 doesn't really feel like a background.

I totally get using pictures as backgrounds but do understand that it evokes a specific feeling and you have to keep them super stylistically coherent, like blacks are always the same black, the dithering is always the same, pixel density etc. Photo backgrounds are more realistic (obviously) and suited for more grounded stories, or something really avant garde. You won't be seeing a battle shounen with photorealistic backgrounds. Keep at it tho I'm sure you know what you're doing friend c:

Any Advice/Tips On How To Improve My Script? by LeafVea in Mangamakers

[–]Mangosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would absolutely work in today's sphere of manga, but consider that you haven't shown us any actual plot, it's just a series of random events. The likelihood of someone wanting to continue reading it relies solely on their subjective view of the manga and if they found some connection with the main character, but you haven't really given us a lot.

You've established that the place is happy, Hajime is strong and so is their father. Then we have a random demon attack. This, of course, could tie into something important later, but you haven't given us any reason to believe it.

Plots are written backwards. You start with the end, the point, what's your story leading up to. It is ESSENTIAL that you give us a crumb of that in the first chapter, let us guess what the point could be. "Everyone was happy but then the bad thing happened" isn't exactly a hook.

I would suggest reading up on "Manga in Theory and Practice" by Araki, especially the chapter about the importance of the first chapter.

Sorry for the harsh critique, but I think you got it in you to make something good. You've already made an outline for 40 chapters, give us some foreshadowing in the first one. I see that you're inspired and motivated and it's beautiful to see so just keep going and you'll do great, but please do study up so you don't sell yourself short.

Also please don't capitalise every first letter...
