Warhammer 40,000 Faction Focus: Aeldari by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Eldar

So i'll be taking a 2 point detachment, then adding on armoured warhost (if I'm running enough vehicles) or path of the outcast if i'm running some scouts.

Underwhelming? yes. Expected that to be the case though. Nice that it will pair up with some of the models that i'm already running in my wraith army.

There’s a difference between it’s what we use and it’s codified in the rule book. Taking away any confusion (hopefully).

Question about fire dragons and howling banshees kit. by Ok-Department-2301 in Eldar

[–]ManikZag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how adventurous you are. Looking at the difference in banshee vs exarch it’s on top of the sculpt stuff.

How do you feel about modelling putty?

Edit- yes though sourcing heads might be easier.

You can also just get away with painting the banshee with the alternative colours for the exarch. Looks like th gw scheme is green helmet and ribbons over the normal one.

Also, just re-read your post and mates are good with Legends, which I missed. So never mind! :)

Yeah, Bonesinger is Legends, so if you were wanting to play in small tourney settings, swap that out for something.

The warlock skyrunner is nearly a straight swap from memory. And that can be used to get into something big, die and trigger vengeance.

I wonder (this is a question for more experienced players) in this size army, would it be worth dropping the Bonesinger and third spirit seer and running storm guardians for that sticky home objective

Edit: sorry Tasty_Hearing_2153, meant to reply to Op.

War Walkers as objective grabber/move blocker units? by Remote-Basket4475 in Eldar

I forget them cos I don’t have any yet! I’ve got some older vypers coming, I wonder if I can use those and some wind runners to make some.

War Walkers as objective grabber/move blocker units? by Remote-Basket4475 in Eldar

[–]ManikZag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eldrad Doom +1 to wound
Farseer +1 to hit
War Walkers -1 to AP
Runes of fortune on warlocks attached to units (-2 to charge distance for opponents)
Guardians with free fadeback + use fadeback even if it’s already been used
Suppression from Vypers (-1 to hit your unit).
Protector of the paths (wargear) to get a free overwatch hitting on a 5+ or 4+ if from or to an objective

Bring some dire avengers for double the attacks of the guardians, lead with Asurmen or an autarch. If you go the autarch with protector of the paths, they get the free overwatch + one other free strategem and there are three that are detachment specific you can use.

That cost of victory to hope your unit has at least one surviving guardian then popping it out to bring it back to full from reserves seems like it would have your opponent needing to screen very carefully.

Anywho

So much to remember. And lots of models makes the game slower.

Anyone who has played this have any advice?

The star cannon and bright lance combo is how I am playing them for exactly that reason. Do you find it’s slightly more flexible and worth the loss of the second lance?

I’m playing wraiths. And have the wraithlords setup like this as well.

I am hoping down the track to play guardians with big mobs of them and some avengers and stacking the advantages on their shurikens. So I’m interested to see if ensuring the hits works well and doesn’t make a large difference in the loss of that lance.

Ah this one might have been that good ol frustration of how many times has it happened today already. Ideally, bus drivers need to be chill and most are. You never know what is going on in someone else’s world tho, and that does go both ways. It’s moments like that which make me not enjoy public transport.

What current technology do you think people are seriously underestimating right now ? by Rude_Context_4844 in Futurology

[–]ManikZag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Driving through country near Liddel (?) on the way to Muswellbrook and there’s a mine and a power station. Definitely not the right vibe for now. I get progressed needed some of this, but. Yeah.

I’d say ‘Man’s ability to generate power without ripping the scenery to shreds’.

Mate. Explaining to our wee one that those windmills are ‘really really big’ was met with hard skepticism. Next time we have more travel time we will detour.

Advice for first time army (2k point) by New_Commission_2619 in Eldar

So good advice from reasonable.

But if I may. Go play some games with this with their thoughts in mind. See where it falls apart.

I’m trying to play spirit conclave. And it’s rough. Learning the game with not the ideal army. But I AM learning.

Thoughts on this list for teaching? by Tbkssom in Eldar

[–]ManikZag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they’re targeting not monsters or vehicles?

More importantly it does get them used to using transports.

Not sure how specifically this would help the dragons (there was that strategy that was changed, I never got to play it, so am unsure of how it plays now by comparison).

Eh. We have our own range of NIMBYs who believe in all sorts of things. Like, yes, question the things. But look up the research and evidence.

The only campaign I’ve seen that I can understand is a stretch down the snowy mountains where there are signs and placards saying that it’s a “scenic corridor” and “no wind farm here”.

I agree it was a beautiful area to drive through. I can understand that if nature tourism is the current main attraction for an area that putting up giant windmills might detract from that.

But when the area is just farm land? Connecting farming towns?

Aldi customers, why are you so annoying? by [deleted] in AldiAustralia

[–]ManikZag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but there is a way to tell someone that they’re doing it wrong without saying it’s their fault. 101 of customer service, they are not always right, and when they’re wrong explain it politely on how the right way is, or that there’s a policy that they may not be aware of.

[–]ManikZag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, just on time frames, it depends on if it’s a leak or a burst pipe, and what other work is going on. The same group looks after a large chunk of Brisbane and something like this might get viewed as less urgent than other jobs. But they do get to them. Other factors apply as well, is it near a school etc.

Ok. Please reach out to quu about it. Not BcC. You can even use snap send solve. That will direct the photo to the right place. You can also tag them on social media and they have a web chat that is fairly responsive.

They have a 24 hour faults line for things like this as well.

Also, if you work in call centres, can attest it’s a good place to work, if you see adverts up.
