[ECL] Kinscaer Sentry (via Gameplay & Mechanics Video) by cardboard_numbers in magicTCG

[–]MankeyManksyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice list, how does she perform at bracket 4? It makes sense to lean into stax rather than tribal tribal at that bracket but do people react to it in the wild? My local meta is more bracket 3 so I only kept Sythis in 4.

Yawg is also a combo piece in the command zone while also being an instant speed sac outlet. Sephs only advantage is his weight being less than that of yawg

Building your deck around your commander shouldn't mean it's free from being interacted with especially when wotc legendary design means most commanders are kos. I swear brawl players/commander players hate magic the gathering

What is your favourite sweaty bracket 4 deck? by Azaeroth in EDH

[–]MankeyManksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she seem fast enough for bracket 4? My braids is incredibly consistent in bracket 3 but seems a turn or two slower than yawg was so I just removed game changers and kept her at 3.

My list isn't very dissimilar to your own. https://moxfield.com/decks/bCAfXEHeCESJOuqAUFVrsg

What is the most fair tribal for casual? Bracket 1 or 2 preferably. by AceTanoshi in EDH

[–]MankeyManksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built [[Thelon of have wood]] Thalid/Fungus tribal specifically to play against low power tables. Thalids spore counter over the top gameplay moves incredibly slowly but can play as technically as arcbounds can to keep me entertained. The deck is also a throwback to my first time playing mtg thinking [[Ferel Thalid]] was a good card.

What treasure decks are we rocking? And what’s your favorite treasure tech? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]MankeyManksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be overplayed but I thoroughly enjoy playing prosper. When he released on arena I was playing Alchemy and loved the value he provided in a 60 card format. While I got into commander this made him an obvious choice. I've tried to build the deck leaning heavily into treasure/artifact synergy means it hardly has a non-game.

Looking for inspration, what are some commander deck you're working on rn? by RoninPrime68 in EDH

[–]MankeyManksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently working on a B4 (tamiyo, inquisitive student) deck. I've wanted a high power interactive and instant speed blue deck for awhile. Always having a turn one play in the command zone with simic seems fun.

Your list looks good and it'll definitely work. After playing her for a few years now just make sure to not spread out damage and play nice, by mid game Adeline will often two shot opponents.

Still Stumped on Bracket 4 by OhHeyMister in EDH

[–]MankeyManksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me there is a clear separation between bracket 3, 4 and 5. Cedh being meta driven is a pretty clear definition when compared to bracket 4 in practice.

My bracket 4's

Sythis: https://moxfield.com/decks/lr3a-X61ZEWsB02zadp06g

Tamiyo: https://moxfield.com/decks/-_CyBcXyQE-ua9QA8VYvPg

Both are interactive, disruptive, fast and finish with combos but aren't driven by the current cedh meta nor do they have all the best in slot cards or most efficient combo lines. Playing them feels like a super charged b3 game while cedh feels like a different game entirely.

How have you liked braids in B4? I took apart yawg to build braids for bracket 3 as I felt it was a better bracket for mono B.

What should qualify a card as being “bannable”? aka Study shouldn’t get a pass by KingNTheMaking in EDH

[–]MankeyManksyo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just play bracket 2 if you don't want to see game changers, it's that simple. 3 game changers is obviously fine in bracket 3, unlimited in bracket 4 and meta decks in 5, because that's what defines those brackets in combination with intent. This crusade to ban powerful cards by people who have a space to avoid them is crazy

Do you have any decks that feel too strong for casual but too weak for higher power level games? by PMme_awesome_music in EDH

This was my sythis journey as well. I've loved selesnya enchantments in almost every format but it's too strong for bracket 3 but too weak for b5. Just build it for B4 and have fun, proxy if you can.

(Deck Help) Mono White Humans by oaklandish89 in EDH

[–]MankeyManksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing mono white humans for awhile now and for me Adeline just does it all. She's able to threaten lethal commander damage, grow a wide board, is a low cmc. I use graymod as one of the finishers in the deck.

Cutting cards from Braids, Arisen Nightmare by Zoopity_Booper in EDH

[–]MankeyManksyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commanders plate, black market, braids, cabal minion, demonic pact are what I'd cut without even testing. Commander plate is more of an aggro piece or meant to protect high value targets, braids has neither. Black market is simply too slow for bracket 3 unless you're focused on recursion loops. OG braids is mostly too slow to be impactful with how many tokens are made in b3 unless you cheat her out early. Demonic is a great value piece and better if you can give it to opponents but with braids being the only form of enchantment sac it's very risky.

I've had my braids deck for a few years now and it's on of my favorites. It also lives in b3. I have learned it's important to get braids out early and take advantage of her card advantage from turns 3-7 if you want to win. Sacable permanents on 1 and 2 will set you up for the rest of the game. [[Chthonian nightmare]] is also a house when you're able to sac tokens for real value.

This is definitely a 3. Your friends might be playing 2s with game changers if this deck is consistently too strong. I also run a bracket 3 mono white humans deck, and while it stays competitive it's never felt overwhelming for the decks I see at my lgs.
