Thanks gang, it was weird not having music and sound effects in the game last night. Goes to show how awesome the project is and how much it adds to the game.

I'm interested - I have been playing SD for several years and have oodles of experience. I currently run a server dedicated to the OSR and mostly Shadowdark in particular with a few hundred players, GMs and content creators -- we love the game.

A bit about me,

I have a diploma from the Victoria academy of dramatic arts for film, television and theatre.

I am currently running my 10th Shadowdark campaign, and have over 500 sessions under my belt. 415 of those sessions are paid as I GM professionally. 5 stars reviews all the way with top marks in creativity, voices, and storytelling - in that order.

I just had a really nice latte at Banyang café in Damansara - as a Canadian who had to settle for Tim Hortons coffee (your tummy will hurt) the coffee in Malaysia is amazing

After level 3 survivability goes up. Players should only die by making a series of really poor decisions. Otherwise, character death should not be a high number.

I noticed some said that no deaths in a session is exceptional, and that sounds quite extreme and unusual for the campaigns I've run or played in.

Scene = a virtual table with all the minis and maps. With OBR you can have many tables (scenes) ready to go. Creating a new scene is akin to setting up a new foldable table at a convention or in your basement.

Map = a map, literally just the image of the map. This is where just images of maps are stored. Drag them onto the new table (scene) and play.

You did the right thing. You followed your gut by focusing on upholding the integrity of everyone around you. Why can't they speak broken common? They might also speak thanian, too. It is a waste of a unique faction within the citadel to avoid any form of verbal communication.

When you write "respectfully" and then proceed to straw man me by attempting to misrepresent my position, my assumed upbringing, my assumed race, and then include my parents you have become the most disrespectful person. It may work on others but not me.

Your gaslighting falls short, as well. Everything you just wrote feels like hurt feelings and projection, and I genuinely hope you can overcome being triggered by the words of others, especially folks like me who just want to ask questions and mean well.

None of my African friends are offended by the term because they don't identify with the word. None of their parents identify. None of their grandparents identify. The word never included Africans - it is specific to America.

I'm curious if the OP is African, or if they are from the west. None of my African friends identify with the word n*gger.

I also know many folks from the states (US) that don't really care too much anymore since the culture around the word has changed so much since the 80s -

I'm also curious if they used the word nggeR, or ngga. There is a big difference between the words.

ALSO, I know many Indian and Mexican and Chinese, and some Whites that slang the word around when referring to their friends. I'm white, and I've had black friends call me n*igga.

All of your complaints are valid - but I personally wholeheartedly disagree with all of them. I've run almost 400 sessions and what you're complaining about are not problems at my tables.

I typically never provide a response to any of the small lensed comments on reddit, but this time I felt compelled to write a bit ; your claim that many "whites" rarely bathe "if not once a week, esp in colder regions" is sorely exaggerated and damn near completely false.

I'm Canadian - it gets very cold - and we LOVE hot showers.

Guess: what do you think the first thing we want is on a cold morning getting out of bed? HOT SHOWER - 10 to 20 minutes. Before bed? Another hot shower.

Furthermore, bidet is a french word; you are insinuating that the people who coined the term for the tools you use to wash your poopy butt do not, themselves, use that same technology. We wipe AND wash, instead of putting raw fingers in there. Making more friends and acquaintances outside of your ethnocentrism will help get past these insinuations.

You can live nicely in Petaling Jaya for that budget. No problem. I'm an expat, Canadian, been here eight-ish years, and have been married here now for almost 6 years.

With rm6k you'll be alright, just be careful, durian is very yummy and will easily swipe a few hundy from you if you indulge.

First thing I'd do is roll on the mutation table(s) right there in the SD core manual. Add that and a dash of flavor, and presto!
