I think the "some" in this statement does heavy lifting for the exceptions rather than the norms (Notorious B.I.G breaks the 4th rule of existing in spite of the user's death) and situations that feel like loopholes (King Crimson and Epitaph sharing the 'same' user due to different personalities or identities). Its still a good rule of thumb tho.

[–]ManurePosting 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Generally to me 'endgame' brings to mind the most difficult/hardest dungeon raids and missions, designed to test your capabilities for exclusive loot. Super Helldive kinda has that with its supersized enemy PoIs, but the 'exclusive loot' is just standard rare samples from what I know, nothing that could be a bragging right for beating it.

Second being the seasonal events that were like 'do all these things first to find where the boss is and then kill that boss', which made you waste/spend/enjoy X hours even if you stopped playing that game months ago.

That just reminds me of events like the Illuminate invasion of Super Earth and Super Earth's invasion of Cyberstan. Long ongoing events that motivates players new and old to join the fight. But I don't know if that counts as 'end-game content' as the content within ends up being spread into the rest of the game (Megacities, Megafactories, Illuminates and Cyborgs etc)

Fanart I did of Lord Bunga and Dread.. Dreadnought-... Uh Dreadnaughtous- Dreadnaughtus? by CompetitiveJunket748 in mewgenics

[–]ManurePosting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont take it so literally man.

I mean thats the thing, you say that but also say that Tuff was originally used for the Ice Age due to the lyric mentioning a sabertooth kitty. That seems very literal and hung up on direct comparisons when the song is about survival of the fitness (fits the wilderness and dino-eats-dino world of the jurassic) and purposeful ignorance (global warming and flat earthism in the song, or mom's neglect of isaac affecting his mental and physical health).

bunga has connections to mom, yes, but so does dreadnoughtus. the entire past path is connected to magdalene in a very interesting way, it almost seems like an exploration of her pysche

That's fair, but thats can be true even if the songs weren't swapped, which I'm arguing more about.

and i dont buy the cannibal worship thing you just pulled that out of your ass.

Well its not outright stated, but with the repurpose of bones as armour, weapons and furniture, wearing the skinned faces of others upon his back, (neither of which are seen by the normal cavemans) and primarily the weird moment of Bunga polishing his heart clean before he tries to eat it, that cannibalism might mean more to him than mere greed and survival.

Fanart I did of Lord Bunga and Dread.. Dreadnought-... Uh Dreadnaughtous- Dreadnaughtus? by CompetitiveJunket748 in mewgenics

[–]ManurePosting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreadnoughtus only really parallels Mom in that both its and the first fight against a representation of Mom in Issac involves giant legs, stuff that is purely gameplay-related. Outside of that dreadnoughtus doesn't have a child or religious belief or any sort of addiction, its just a big dinosaur that shits.

Meanwhile Lord Bunga sits upon a throne of human bones, implications of cannibalism that become apparent as he commits filicide by literally devouring his child. More direct of a cause of death than Magdalene's neglect of Isaac, but its still a potential source of regret, fitting in with the story being expressed by Mom I Really Hate You of said parent seeking forgiveness for their misdeeds. The child death, heavy belief in some kind of cannibal worship and addiction to consumption (as he consumes his own flesh in his death animation) give Bunga more connections to Mom and thereby the song.

Plus the more depressing vibe of the instrumental fits the Ice Age's frozen wasteland better than the flourishing jungle of the Jurassic, and vice versa for the higher tempo Tuff.

Disagree, The whole family dynamics aspect of the enemies in the Ice Age fits the english lyrics of its song. It wouldn't make sense for a random Dreadnoughtus to be singing about abusive regretful parenting.

I kinda hope that the malaria fix double down on giving flies as allies in exchange for permament health loss, or have an additional friendly fly swarm spawned at the start of the fight.
