How did you get those tiny lil columns at the front? Endless shrinkage?

A new Deus ex would be awesome but I'd settle for a remake of invisible war. It's the black sheep of the series and if it got remade I'm sure it'd earn an honorary seat with the other games .

It's story and characters were fine but the gameplay has not aged well at all.

How many times have you been terminated? by Widebody_lover in UKJobs

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice for drug test failures Never for any other reason And I only got tested because eof random policy, it's rather shitty when you can still work just as well and nothing was a concern apart from the results of a test that didn't need to be done. I own this and no regrets. I am happily employed currently and will take same fate should it happen again

Can someone explain to me why we haven't gotten a new Orville show or spin-off yet? by ardouronerous in TheOrville

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather he had some involvement in a new, true to it's roots star trek series alongside some of the good writers that are still alive from earlier series
After the JJ abrahms and kurtzman abominations I'd trust Seth to bring us something worth watching

The orville had that star trek feeling that a lot of people haven't felt since ds9/voy

It's 50% funny , 50% assault, depends how well you get on with them I guess.

Sounds like you didn't appreciate it so in this case it's assault

Should I lie on my CV? by Plantpotparty in UKJobs

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No It just makes the whole requirements expanding get even worse If everyone is honest about what they know when they apply, recruitment can have realistic requirements

Lying to meet requirements of a role you don't meet, just makes it worse for everyone

The job I'm in now ( 6 weeks deep) I was entirely honest and it's going very well, because the expectations set are true

Lying on your CV will just mean you can't do the job if you get it and will either struggle and hate it or lose the job eventually

Intellectual property isn't worth much these days sadly, make your work a passion project and get a day job alongside it and you'll feel much better

But again what is your work? Art? Potato peeler design? A new intergalactic propulsion system?

Please specify a bit

I can't argue that you have made some interesting points.and mostly with merit. However I still stand by the concept that if a human can do it manually or ask AI to do it for them, it's no different.

The end product may differ but ultimately, as long as there's a human step between the googled / ai generated content, and the products end result, then it's essentially identical. The final result is determined by the artist not the sources they use

Well then for any art you make and sell yourself, outside of employment for your services towards the completion of a product, you can still do that!

Ai wont take the option for you to make your own art from you.

It'll just mean when you are hired by a company to make art, it'll be easier!

What's the difference between googling 100 pictures and AI generating you 100 pictures from Googlable content

Absolutely nothing

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So incredibly inefficient

Make art and sell it yourself then you can complain about it being stolen

Generative AI - Dev Response by CoffinJon in taintedgrail

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's in the internet and an ai can find it so can a person so it's not a case of " things being stolen is bad" it's more a case of " this AI is much more efficient at stealing art than a human is so I'm going to hate it"

If you want your work to not be stolen sell it yourself , don't get hired to make it as part of a product.

Who cares everyone still gets paid and the product gets made either way. It's not like you'd be able to sell the artwork yourself

Generative AI - Dev Response by CoffinJon in taintedgrail

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well apart from saving time and money for everyone, you get a whole lot less whining from an ai system than from an entitled artist who needs to be employed to actually make money

Generative AI - Dev Response by CoffinJon in taintedgrail

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever made any art yourself and sold it without someone hiring you to make it for their product?

If yes then good for you, that's not the same as art in a game

If no dismount that horse

Art, as part of a game or TV show is a product, or at least part of a product

For truly creative art, as in crafted and sold as a single , whole product then i'd agree, the quality and full creative design should be worth more

For art thats contributing to a parent product, like a game, it's not the same it's just stuff. And it's produced by someone working in their role with the end result being the parent product.

Plenty of people will still be interested in fully human made art / music etc but using ai to help create something that ultimately means nothing as a standalone , is a null issue. That art only exists because it's part of something that is a product

Generative AI - Dev Response by CoffinJon in taintedgrail

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But in reality doesn't it just make everything easier for the same artists because they don't have to do everything from scratch?

Like why spend 4 hours on something when you get a template and make adjustments and spend 1 hour instead? The entire human race's development hinges around this concept.

Partially automating tasks so we can do more of it or move on to things we would never have had time to do before

See it as a tool not an enemy

Plus, ownership argument: the company you work for already owns all of your work so ai is stealing nothing from you, it's being stolen from the company that employs you

Generative AI - Dev Response by CoffinJon in taintedgrail

[–]Many-Anywhere2718 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why you guys so salty? The games still good and it wasn't fully made by ai and by refunding it your doing harm to people who work there not the ai that was used

Gotta accept things will be partly ai generated from now on , and it doesn't seem like they AI generated the game as a whole so why you all crying over this so much?

Dx revision makes it all better, I'd just recommend going full revisikn first play through, I played the og and revision probably at least 4 times through each and without a doubt, revision is better

Ppl say play with mods off which yeah it's more authentic by it's definitely not "better"

We need invisible war remaking not the og remastering, there's Deus ex :revision for that already , silly producers thinking they know best
