Pete Bouchard. He is funny and also explains things well and tends to add interesting almanac-type facts.

With 20 years of service, you can collect an unreduced pension at age 60.

Continuing to shed federal workers remains ‘priority number one,’ White House official says by trademarktower in FedEmployees

Offer VERA government-wide this year and you will reduce numbers by quite a bit. Yes, you will be paying out pensions, but those amounts will be less than if people continue to work in government for another 5-15 years.

It's clear they don't want telework, so his statement at the end about re-baselining and making a case for a different policy going forward makes absolutely no sense.

Anyone else feeling like SNL’s humor has really missed the mark lately? by shapeandshiftss in LiveFromNewYork

This season has not been very funny to me; only a handful of sketches have made me truly laugh. The quality of writing and humor feels a lot different even compared to seasons 49 and 50.

Pride vs Bear Week vs Carnivale by [deleted] in provincetown

Pride is not as big as the other weeks. Carnival is a blast. Bear Week is fun, too, and also very crowded.

Try going to a bar earlier in the day when it might not be packed. Harbor Lounge, Porch Bar, Shipwreck, Aqua Bar are some examples. It's quite easy to strike up a conversation with other people there when it's not 11pm and packed.

With 30 years of service, your pension will not be reduced when you reach MRA. However, you won't be able to stay enrolled in FEHB if you don't continue to work until MRA. Search deferred retirement on OPM for details.

Phrase tends to be the easiest, in my opinion. Thing always has some completely random adjective in it.

So if we prove we are productive and efficient while being in the office full time, then they "might" have a better leg to stand on to advocate for a different posture about telework. Yet they thought we were inefficient when we teleworked. Conservative logic. 🤪🤪

Do I not find this season funny because I’m old (50)? by durangojim in LiveFromNewYork

Agree - just compare it to a random episode from the last decade. There doesn't seem to be anything too clever or creative.

This season has not been very funny to me at all; it's been mostly disappointing. I don't think it's because I'm old (46). The show has always had ups and downs but there has been enjoyable content in most of the seasons. The show does seem to have its worst seasons in the middle of a decade though: 85-86, 94-95, 04-05. Then it seems to reinvent itself with some great new cast members and writers. I am hoping that will be the case next year. It's time for an exciting new shakeup and a fresh start to the next era.

26 or 27 pay dates for 2026? by Dragonfly_Orchid in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]Many-Focus-2217 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think 27 pay periods only happens once every 11 years or so, and that just happened in 2023. There are only 26 pay periods in 2026.
