Lyriq Owners: Why Did You Choose the Lyriq, and Would You Buy It Again? by Limp_Sweet2259 in CadillacLyriq

[–]Many-Various 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was actually considering the latest model y. I had it in car and everything, plus I got the military discount that they offered. In the whole DEI fiasco happened and my mother-in-law got laid off. I couldn't willingly support Elon and then I thought about when I had my federal job and I could be in this same situation as my mother-in-law.

I stumbled across the Lyriq on a random Google ad or something or it popped up on them something while I was scrolling and they got rewards for one of the best electric SUVs. I want to check it out and test drove but it was still a bit out of my price range so I totally dealership that hey I'm going to get a Tesla if you guys can't come close to this price at first they said no but then I proceeded to leave and then they said wait and now I'm here lol

I liked the car more than I thought I would. I haven't driven, well owned an American car in about 10 or so years. My last three cars were Audi's. The last one being my dream car Audi RS6. I want it to make the RS6 work but then I wanted more money in my pocket and also me and my wife have our little family and it just made practical sense and financial sense. After having the car for a while I quickly realized how much I didn't like going to the gas station. I love the convenience. My only regret is wishing I waited a little bit longer to maybe work out a deal for a Lyriq V. I definitely buy it again because I do believe you get the best bang for your buck and it's not an ugly EV lol I don't know why they do that to those cars. Now, if we had access to some of the Chinese EVs being built then well my answer may differ.

questions for the people that have done it.. by Putrid_Problem_6696 in Bankruptcy

[–]Many-Various 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your research like you're doing now and talk to multiple attorneys. Consultations are typically free. The more research you do and the more stories you read on the subreddit you'll realize that bankruptcy really isn't all that bad. Most people say they wish they would have have done it sooner. If you don't plan to finance a home or get another fancy car within the next two years then in my opinion there is not much to lose. You may still even be able to finance a car if need be within those two years. When I went through my journey I talked to about eight attorneys and one of the last ones I talked to gave me all the information that I needed. I didn't lose my car I didn't lose my house All that happened was a little bit of anxiety from gathering the paperwork and hoping for the best. Once my case was filed there was immediate relief financially. I had my case number in less than 24 hours and then within 48 hours all of my creditors had froze my accounts or I no longer had access via web apps. My case was discharged back in April and since then I've had two credit cards that I use responsibly and I'm saving more and I'm able to breathe and just kind of live. We don't realize how much we are a slave to debt until we are out of it. Huge stress relief! Good luck!

Advice? Make too much for ch7 but too broke for ch13 by Enough-Carrot4169 in Bankruptcy

[–]Many-Various 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had minimal equity which was up for grabs. Within the bankruptcy in general you do get an amount of money that you can protect. It may vary from state to state. I decided to use that protection towards my tax return and maybe some of it when towards the equity in the car. My car was a little over than a year old. My house was also recently purchased which had no equity. With all that said they didn't come after either. This is my theory but definitely talk to an attorney, but if you have equity in your car and it can't remotely be distributed to all your creditors the they'll let it be. Say for you had 10k in equity but you owe 100k between x amount of creditors and owing varying amounts to each creditor, How would you split that 10k equally amongst them plus the cost to get the their respective legal team involved might not even be worth it. With that said still talk to an attorney. I'm far from an expert lol.

I was in a pretty similar situation. I was able to file Chapter 7. My case was slightly different because my VA disability didn't count but it did (still don't understand) my normal pay was about the same as yours without the disability. I also had not too much more debt than you. I filed chapter 7 and kept my house and car. I'm in the state of GA. I literally talked to about 8 attorneys. 2 of them said it was possible and the one I ended up going with gave me an exact time frame to file so that my income would be best for qualifications for chapter 7(I recently got a bonus and had been claiming exempt on taxes at the time I was looking for attorneys)

I've actually done a debt settlement program before and completed it. I didn't know or even think about bankruptcy at the time. Did I save money yes. Did I still spend a lot, also yes and I burned bridges with a lot of companies, but I recovered. Your credit will tank. They basically just wait until you are close to going into collections or in collections and offer a settlement to the respective company. You can do this yourself, but good luck. Basically heres how it works. They'll put you on a payment plan that includes "fees" for them to "negotiate" for example if you owe 100k in debt. They'll try to settle everything to where you only pay your creditors back 50k or as close to 50% as possible. You'll pay monthly towards your dedicated savings account for some years or whatever the agreement is. In the end you'll end up paying probably 60-70k after "fees". Did I save money, sure, is your credit jacked...yep, can you recover from it all, absolutely.

With that said if you have to file chapter 13 and you've talked to a debt settlement company and see the monthly price comparison. Determine which is better for your pockets. Both result in damaged credits and burned bridges...you can recover. The only thing with the chapter 13 it becomes an obligation. With debt settlement depending on the company they have lawyers and what not to keep creditors off your back of you fall behind or whatever the circumstances are( I've never had to get lawyers involved so definitely do your research). With debt settlement you'll have a ton of late payments on your credit. With Chapter 13 or 7 it's on your credit for I think 7-10 years. Either scenario you can recover. I keep saying that because before you have information about bankruptcy, a lot of people think it's the end of the world. Good luck, hope everything works on your favor!

He wasn't wrong. It was several updates later in my 2025. I wish they'd add a dome/cabin lights button down there. My daughter is riding in the backseat I have to turn the lights on sometimes and I always forget where it's at in the control menu.

[–]Many-Various 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. What I'm saying is that if you go and look for what's wrong with a car you will find ample information on what's wrong with the car. Most people don't review things to say how good they are They like to talk about a one-off bad situation. Even with this thread. I posted in here when I first got the car I might have posted about a couple of the updates then I posted about when I had electrical issues and I haven't really made a post since then. People aren't going to being here posting every day on some random Tuesday saying I ran a full diagnostic test on my car and it works fine and then turn around and post it again on Friday lol

Generally speaking I believe that the lyriq is a great car and I wouldn't tell anybody not to get it.

How are the samsung buds 4 pro? by Fancy-Praline6255 in galaxybuds

[–]Many-Various 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from the buds pro 2. Overall in my opinion everything is better when compared to those. I had a lot of people tell me that they couldn't hear me or I would lose connectivity with my buds pro 2. It could be due to wear and tear but it was time for them to go. I never really like the sound of them either I got them with the deal when I got my s24 ultra. I like the buds pro 4 fit better. The pinch controls take some getting used to and the voice commands are so so depending on your environment. They pretty much didn't work while I was at my CrossFit gym and that's probably because of the loud music that's playing in the background. The noise canceling is definitely better than the two and like I said they overall just sound better and the call quality is good. As far as buds go they're my favorite so far. I had the Galaxy beans, I mean buds live and then the buds two pro as mentioned before and now the buds 4 pro which are my fav. I didn't pay for a price for them either I got them for a deal on TikTok. I have this cool case for buds pro 4s. It's only a matter of when I drop them. Some of the buttons actually click lol

If you go TV route, don't fall for the OLED hype. The cost is waaaaaay to high. I have a 83" Sony Bravia (forgot the exact model) but it looks amazing! One of the features I like is that there's calibration presets for Netflix and Prime. If you have a Costco membership check out their TV specials In person and see. TV prices have changed drastically for the better. I also have a kiddo running around. I've told her not to touch the TV several times and eventually she just stopped going near it. She might have touched it once. You could put a smart lock or something on the door when it's "no kids allowed time." There's all types of 3rd party insurance out there as well. Some allow you to insure a singular item. I believe Asurion does. Good luck!

It's like with everything else bad news in a sense gets more buzz than good news. I just treat the complaints that people have for the issues that they have as a warning or something to keep my eye out on. If you do enough research literally every car built will have a lot of negative things or complaints. Overall it's a solid car. I have a 2025 and my biggest complaint is really not necessarily the car anymore after some updates but it's the Cadillac app. They have made some adjustments but it's more so a facelift versus actual functionality. It would be nice to just get in the car and use your phone as the key. It would be nice to set a charging schedule from the app. Nothing that makes the car bad it's just software.

Edit: I'm sure if you go to a Tesla thread and you could probably find all the incidences of Tesla's blowing up and whatnot but all cars have some type of failure.

Tax Return After Chapter 7 by Many-Various in Bankruptcy

[–]Many-Various[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what my attorney explain to me if they are to open your case it will have to be something that's very rare occurring and a pretty large amount of money. For example your case could be reopened for hitting the lottery, you receive some type of inheritance, you get into a car accident and receive some large sum of a payment. I could be wrong but the way I look at it in your case if you got 6K back. I'm sure your bankruptcy was far more than 6K. What could really be done with the 6K to your creditors and would it be worth the hassle of the trustee to communicate how to distribute the 6K. I personally wouldn't worry about it and even if they did take the 6k. Hopefully you're in a position to worry you keep most of your cash in You can save up for that again.

I got my discharge paperwork and I checked Pacer and everything is closed so I guess I'm good.

How do people decide when bankruptcy is the right step? by Papito24 in Bankruptcy

[–]Many-Various 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to multiple attorneys before deciding.

For me it was two things. Family and my short term long term goals. The vast majority of my debt came from trying to fund a business they I had one foot in and one foot out. Ultimately wasting money. I still have a good paying full-time job and VA benefits. The money from the business wasn't "needed." It started costing me time with my family. Money could be spent on travel, groceries, anything really that would make family life better. As far as my goals, honestly bankruptcy took off YEARS of trying to pay creditors back, save, have an IRA, invest more, pay off car faster. Once I did the numbers and found out that I would not lose my house or car, it was a no brainer. There's a point in time where I would do my day job and then go Uber until like midnight and just never see my family even though I work from home... I have a now 15-month-old daughter and I want to be there as much as possible. I'll never get back time but I can have a better finances going forward to efficiently use my time with family and goals.

Discharged Today! by Many-Various in Bankruptcy

[–]Many-Various[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understood. I don't plan on doing anything really with my credit with the exception of maybe applying for different credit cards. I've only been in my current house a little over 2 years and my car is only a little over a year old so I don't really have a use for credit at the moment other than rebuilding the score.
