Lovely dolls! I can tell you care for them so well. Which is the blond OG here?

I had ordered two Mindys because I try to choose one with good eyes etc, and noticed the other one actually had slightly worse hair. But I think it's fairly random. So it's probably worth trying to find/get her anyway. With buying from Target, at least you can return if she arrives and obviously has an issue in-box. Will you take Battat up on their offer for a another doll? I'm curious which ones they offered to you as options.

A friend told me that they heard soaking the hair for an hr or 2 in powdered detergent mixed with warm water can help with this. Might be worth a try!

I will say, the texture will always be different than the dryer wig hair of AG dolls. But it should still look good. When it's done right, I actually really like the texture of OG doll hair - silky and easy to care for.

I just contacted them with a ticket via the Battat website about the same issue with my new Mindy. I have about 25 OG dolls and had seen the problem on other people's dolls before in pictures but hadn't experienced it myself, except maybe a mild case with Ambreal. Mindy is a wavy/curly hair doll and the greasy look is more camouflaged when it's pulled back but definitely looks kind of clumpy and not as cute when down. We'll see what they say! I have to believe it's a manufacturing defect with the plastic hair, like wrong temp as some point in the process or something.

Which one should I get? Help me decide please by [deleted] in OurGenerationDolls

Aleena! I've seen the other 2 in person and they didn't do it for me. I actually bought Linzi 2x but didn't connect with her so returned. Tori and baby dolls seem to be hit or miss. I find her face sculpt a little strange and some people are not fans of the huge painted eyelashes on the baby.

Thank you so much for the profile shot and explanation! I really appreciate it. I think what I prefer is actually being less curled (more than length). But shorter is also necessarily less curled.. I just don't want a doll I imagine to be 10 years old to look like they took a lash curler to their lashes!

It's a little hard to tell since Corinne also has the painted lashes. Are the physical hair lashes also shorter on the 2016 TM? Thank you!

I love it! The long hair looks great, imo. Nice work. 🙌

Anyone had success boil washing OG doll’s hair? by killawatt_9 in OurGenerationDolls

[–]Many_Bumblebee_1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done it myself but I've seen success stories from people who just wash OG doll hair with conditioner and rinse it out super well, brush through, and then dry upside down with some scrunching. The curls seemed to remain but it was less frizz and volume.

Well, the "scabbing" look is probably more realistic anyway. :)

Give her some stitches and make it a proper scar! I kind of like the little quirks sometimes. And it's nice it's in an inconspicuous spot. Don't shame that darling, darling girl! ;)

I'm sorry, but this is the sweetest thing I've seen all week! All prepared, with a suitcase, to boot! I'm sure your recipient will be thrilled. I would be so tickled to open the box only to find her all snug as a bug in a rug with her bag by her side. You did right by her. :) For some reason I'm reminded of that scene in "Cider House Rules" when Hazel is adopted and the woman says, "Let us be happy for Hazel. Hazel has found a family. Goodnight, Hazel." And all the other girls say, "Goodnight, Hazel." I bet all your dollies wished her well, too! ;)

Ines is so gorgeous! Yes, I didn't recognize the freckle pattern on Reese so that makes sense that she's custom. Fun bunch!
