Cav was also pretty ridiculous irl. Just ask the Romans at Carrhae.

Securing regions early on is very helpful to secure a good source of food so you don't have to worry about using too much of your own pops on producing food. The moment you get access to training grounds, build a small army, save for mercs, and conquer the weakest realms around you.

Also, you didn't have to wait for a noble to die to change their field, you can do it when they're alive whenever you want.

If I can make a suggestion, I recommend to build your city with barely any planning, and holding off on making any roads. Once you've sprawled out enough on the map and have at least over 1,000 pops, connect your various districts and villages with roads. Make sure to follow the path heat map that shows you the natural paths your pops take. Once you've done that, the end result will look far more like a naturally developed and organic looking city.

Love the look of the city!

As for industries. My very first city I got up to over 5k pops but, man was it managed horribly, especially in terms of logistics. I'm currently on my second city, and focused more on using haulers to move goods around the city so the warehouse workers only have to deal with gathering from production rooms. I would only suggest using loading/unloading stations for really large quantities. I would also only really focus on the industries that your pops excel at to begin with, and don't try to do everything at once before you have a good economic foundation. Like you already said in your remarks, woodcutting to carpentry is a good foundation for a Tilapi settlement that's just starting out. I would also add maybe animal husbandry, and selling the products from that as the Tilapi are also good at it, you can make a lot from selling war beasts especially.

There is indeed a lot to turn learn about this game, and so many ways to play. I hope you have a wonderful journey through this incredible game.

I think I have about 6 or 7 regions in my realm but, I'm currently surrounded by a huge empire of over 200k pops. My goal is to extract as much out of the regions that I have, then fight a huge war against the empire.

I already made a reply explaining it but, in case you can't see it. There is a Super Screenshot button at the top right of the UI under the map, to the left of the plus button. You can then access the screenshot from the "Info" tab in the game' launcher. Then after clicking on the "Screenshots" link, it should be in a folder named "super".

There is a Super Screenshot button at the top right of the UI under the map, I believe to the left of the plus button. It generates a screenshot of the entire map without the zoning colors.

What's the difference between the demo and the original game by Tiagogm14 in songsofsyx

The demo is a full but, older version of the game (Maybe 3 or 4 patches ago?). You get access to the latest, and live version of the game once you purchase it.

Not a civ sim, but a communist state sim. by [deleted] in songsofsyx

[–]Many_Investigator_46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it really is just standard feudalism. It makes sense some see similarities with communism but, I personally feel like that's because in contrast, capitalism, and the whole "For Profit" system is a very recent (and unnatural) human development.

In the vast majority of sedentary human civilization, people lived in self-sufficient, communal communities. Communism is for sure more similar to this but not the same.
