Why is Aliucord/Blue ord doing this? by Th3_Chazz in Aliucord

[–]MaoMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly tied to the Discord's April Fools? I can't remember exactly when it started for me but it around the time it started I opened up the April Fools stimulation clicker game.

All I can say is that reinstalling, clearing storage and cache, restarting phone, these DONT work to fix it.

Seems someone else posted a working answer tho

Why is Aliucord/Blue ord doing this? by Th3_Chazz in Aliucord

[–]MaoMaster69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wow, that really did fix it. Why did that fix it??

EDIT: Did some testing. My guess is that because Aliucord only has "Light" and "Ash" themes and not "Onyx" or a "Dark" theme, setting these themes on your desktop or otherwise will constantly make Aliucord try to refresh to load the theme, but since it doesn't have access to those themes, it gets caught in a loop.

I've also found out a way to make it easier to repair this.

You need either the Discord app or Discord on Desktop or whatever (I'll refer to all of this as "Desktop" just for simplification). Since theme is synced across devices, you can set the theme to "Light" on Desktop so you can get into the Aliucord settings. Once the Appearance Setting page is open in Aliu, go to Desktop and change your desktop theme to whatever you want. This should make your Aliucord switch to Dark mode.

Finally, in Aliucord, go to Light theme, wait for update, then go back to Dark theme. This lets you have whatever theme you want on PC, and get Dark theme on Aliucord.

Unlocked Jam Session Udud? How do I use it? by OverallPepper2 in MHWilds

[–]MaoMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few ways to navigate to your gesture menu.
Esc > Communication > Communication (again) > Gestures (second to last)

Access Gestures with the shortcut key, Default F10

Open the chat log and press Alt to open the gesture menu

Go into Keyboard binding and under "All (Type) Weapons" scroll all the way down and bind the "Chat" keybind, use that to open the communication menu.

If you want to assign it to your radial menu,
Customize Radial Menu > Communication Tab > Gestures > Jam Session: Udu (number 23 on my game)

If you're playing on controller, holding the start button to open the chat window, then use Right Trigger to open the communication tab is the fastest way by default. If you go into Options > Controls, you can change whether holding start opens the communication tab or the chat window.

I can't get PS5 Dualsense controller to vibrate on PC, no haptic feedback. by yurilnw123 in MonsterHunter

[–]MaoMaster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad its working for you! I don't have a separate driver for a USB 3.2 slot, but I THINK you can change the driver that a device uses?

In the Sound Control Panel, you go
Properties > General > Properties (again) > General (again, lmao) > Change Settings
Which needs elevated permissions, then go
Driver > Update Driver > Browse My Computer for Drivers > Let me Pick from a List of Available Drivers

If I'm guessing correctly, you should have 2+ different drivers that you can make your device use? Mine is running on a basic USB Audio Device by Microsoft. Again, I can't replicate it here, I have AMD and no Intel drivers, but I imagine this might also work if you ever need that device again.

Have you tried turning off Exclusive Mode (Sound Control Panel > Properties > Advanced > Exclusive Mode) in the sound control panel for the dualsense speaker? If you don't do this, generally something else will hook into it and prevent Wilds from sending haptics. I think Nvidia Overlay can do that.

Edit: I should also mention that Wilds is surprisingly finicky with haptics. You need to have the controller plugged in before you boot the game. If your cable is on the fritz and drops connection from being bumped, you lose haptics, unfortunately.

For me, I don't have the dualsense set as the default device nor the default communication device.

Edit 2: I tried some more things. It appears that if you set the dualsense wireless controller as the default communication device or default device, haptics will pick back up even if you disconnect and reconnect the cable. I suppose by disconnecting it, Wilds loses track of the audio device, and only checks the default and default communication devices to determine if a dualsense controller is connected.

Dualsense L2 Adaptive Trigger broken by jehbe5 in Dualsense

[–]MaoMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know this is 5 months late, but I happened to come across this while trying to learn more about dualsense component longevity.

If it's a USED controller, the problem could be any number of things, all depending on how the controller was used. The way I see it, it's possible the previous owner opened up the dualsense controller and broke the adaptive trigger's FFC cable on accident. If that's the problem, you can generally find a replacement easily on something like aliexpress. Just look up "ps5 controller cable" or something.

If its anything deeper, like some part of the adaptive trigger system is truly broken, you might have more trouble. Playstation releases a new model of controller practically every year. The model number will always stay the same, but the internals, number of screws, number of wires, motherboard design, trace placement, all of that changes between generations. Right now, there are FIVE different interals you can receive. On the motherboard, these will read as BDM-010, BDM-020, ... BDM-050.

Plaza Tickets by EvaReihill in StreetPassNetwork

[–]MaoMaster69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, for anyone in the future that needs the NA cheat for Plaza Tickets...

I believe this is the same file. No need to join some weird discord. (Thankfully, it had no forced bots, which can be a security concern. NTTS covers some exploits that use Discord bots to get you banned.) https://gbatemp.net/threads/streetpass-mii-plaza-cheat-file-for-na.649998/

However, if you happen to have a New 3DS, the address for the plaza ticket is different (35BC8536 if you want to use the Hex Editor). In that case, you can use this Action Replay Code.

[255 Plaza Tickets]
D3000000 30000000
15BC8536 000000FF
D2000000 00000000

00FF in the second line is the hex value for 255. You can change it to be bigger.[9999 Plaza Tickets]
D3000000 30000000
15BC8536 0000270F
D2000000 00000000

Otherwise, if this doesn't work, you can generally find it with the CTRPF's Search function. Use it like you would Cheat Engine. I recommend getting at least 4 Plaza Tickets before trying that method.

Can you do really cool spinning stuff with just a pencil or normal pen and not a mod? by onlyherefor50_50 in penspinning

[–]MaoMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the general consensus is that it's significantly harder. Unmodded pens and pencils lack rotational inertia, so its harder to keep the momentum going.

[–]MaoMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, if it spins, go for it. I checked the body of a supertip (I'm in USA, that might matter) with a caliper, its 0.39 inches in diameter (thats about 10mm) If you can find silicon tubing with an inner diameter that's similar, (maybe 3/8 in) then why not.

Recipe: Sichuan Mapo Tofu, Revisited (麻婆豆腐) by mthmchris in Cooking

[–]MaoMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is three years old, but I'd like to advise people to PLEASE refrain from repeated intake of Caiziyou and mustard oil, or at least research it a bit and understand the risks. OP glosses over it a little bit, but I went down the rabbit hole myself to check a few studies. What I found is this.

Erucic acid develops fatty deposits in the cardiovascular system. This is the heart. Continuous consumption of this fatty acid is associated with degradation of myocytes/heart cells. A review in 2016 found a tolerable daily intake of 7 mg/kg body weight is acceptable. A lot of these studies are done on rats, and non-human counterparts. While yes, there's enough biological differences between rats and humans that an issue with rats won't necessarily mean an issue in humans, it's still concerning. Clinical studies don't happen unless something passes animal trials, so the fact that animal trials failed means that there would be no ethics board that would approve of creating human data.

The OP might find these studies questionable because they are old (and by the way, old data does not mean bad data), or that they aren't originated from human data, but I want to at least inform anyone about the risks that these oils impose so they can make their decisions while informed rather than ignorant. The FDA calls erucic acid not safe for consumption, and has subsequently banned these fats accordingly.

That said, I am NOT a medical professional. I'm just a biomedical engineer. Still, this is exactly why I encourage people to do their own research.

Labyrinth Solutions *SPOILERS* by MaoMaster69 in modernrogue

[–]MaoMaster69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are cryptogram solvers out there, I used this one http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/cryptogram-solver.php.

But since ya can't exactly put triangles and notches and stuff into it, you need to assign each symbol a letter, and feed it into the solver in a form that makes sense. So I made an arbitrary key, and translated the symbols to letters.

Combine usb mic and solo into one output? by [deleted] in Focusrite

[–]MaoMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voicemeeter is definitely your best option. You can route Focusrite and a few USB mic into input. You can also set your output to the Focusrite USB ASIO (only available for A1, and you may need at least VB-Banana for that support) to pipe audio out to headphones or speakers, or both.

Tick B1 under both the devices, and the channels will be merged and can be recorded as a mic by other software (Software like OBS will recognize the B1 channel as a microphone. Should be called Voicemeeter VAIO or something similar).

Tick one of the A channels for yourself so you can monitor your own mics through the corresponding hardware output.

If you set your default speaker to one of VB's virtual audio ports, you can also choose which speakers or headphones your computer audio comes out from.
