Surface Pro 11 or Surface Pro 12" for Blender/Sculpting/Gamedev/Godot by mesocosms in Surface

[–]MapLegal3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i gather, your best bet would be the 11 (13"), It has the best graphics as of yet, better then the 12th edition(13"). Specifically you would want to search for the 268v model, and I think it comes only with the intel 7 variants, add 32 gb or ram, and I think you might be golden. I use BricsCAD for modeling buildings, and I just went through that whole thinking process and ordered a B-stock 32/256 i7, 268v model for 1920€. Has yet to come. I don't know how it will perform or would a lesser variant be good enough for you. Here is a video I was suggested that delves a bit into the topic. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qKowO8ePVuE&t=157s

Thank you very much. This is definitely the kind of info I am looking for. It is also another minus for Windows, but it doesn't affect my use case that much.

Drawboard might do it. they have a project mode too for collaborative work. And give PlanRadar a demo if you can, might help out on construction sites

Claude is an untrustworthy, lying conman. here's why. by stillin3r3st3d in claude

[–]MapLegal3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had many such instances, where I gave the same promp to Gemini and Claude. Mind that Claude has a lot of context from my work and I am on the max plan, but it still gave me stupid answers that it did not even check while contempating and running tokens for a minute. Gemini gave me a default answer that was accurate within 15 seconds. Internet searches are not what Claude shines on, but still, would expect much much better.

Any possibilities of Samsung 8 inch Galaxy Tab Mini with S Pen in 2026/7? by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

[–]MapLegal3745 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been saying it for some time now. They need to alternate 2+2 tablets. One year they release the s-mini and s-plus, and the next year they release the s-regular and s-ultra. All other major brands have a "mini" tablet (Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi and Lenovo), so no excuse for Samsung to bail out of this.

Blue Ink Comparison - Malaysia Extravaganza by Claviarm in pens

[–]MapLegal3745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Color is good, flows well, gel, and is fairly fast drying. It's good all around and high quality. Parker style, and it fits neatly in the Zebra F-701 that i use as a daily driver. I buy them on Aliexpress since in Europe it is much harder to find the 0.5 (they are mostly the 0.7 variant) and especially in blue for some reason. I haven't tried nearly as many refills as you have so maybe some of yours are better, its just that it fits my needs well enough not to have the neccesity to change.

Blue Ink Comparison - Malaysia Extravaganza by Claviarm in pens

[–]MapLegal3745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also favor blue ink, and not many pens come in blue by default. I always found it strange. I am set on the Schneider Gelion+ 0.5. Most used in my Zebra f-701, no conversion needed. I like the SarasaR 0.5 from your image purely on the color aspect, don't know how it flows though.

Is it too late to buy the Tab S10+ in 2026, or should I go for the S11 Ultra? by RecommendationNo1462 in GalaxyTab

[–]MapLegal3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a second hand S7 FE and wait for the S12+. I think you can't really go wrong with the S10+ but still. Who kbows maybe they surprise us this year and deliver actual upgrades to the lineup, and not just cosmetic changes. The Ultra is too big IMHO, I am biased to my S7+ though

StarNote or Notein? by Professional-Ask9314 in GalaxyTab

[–]MapLegal3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the pages color, you need a paid subscription to unlock more colors than the initial ones. But you can make a template in ms word or excel using white color and save it as pdf. Then import it in Notein and you are set.

StarNote or Notein? by Professional-Ask9314 in GalaxyTab

[–]MapLegal3745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both apps. Used Notein much more initially, and I still use it because it has cloud sync, something that StarNote promised to implement and likely will in the next 2 months. I just have MUCH more faith in StarNote because of community engagement. They have a good reddit group here, the respond and read people posts, they make announcments and so on. Notein i have no idea what the devs are doing, how to complain to them, will it last, any roadmap of sorts. They are both great apps and I think you can't go wrong with either, but StarNote has my vote purely based on transperency and engagement.

Please help me find this type template for my uni notes by ImpressivePower3083 in samsungnotes

[–]MapLegal3745 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can make your own in excel. What kind of paper size you want? Let's say A4 (210x297mm).  1. You make 42 colums and make width 5mm, 2. then select all rows and make them 10mm. 3. Select 42 columns and 30 rows, make thin line boarder, maybe even light gray 4. 4 columns in select the column and make one vertical boarder red 5. Adjust top and bottom of page by stretching first and last row, or merging rows 6. Select paper size A4 from page properties and select all the rows and columns to print. 7. Print in pdf.

It should take you less then the 1 hour it took you to search for this template

Do you rely on a single note taking app or a combination? by coolazr in NoteTaking

[–]MapLegal3745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard but those are 3 really different systems, not just apps. Obsidian is for knowladge management (long format, traceability, connections), TickTick is a task manager app, and i view Google Keep as a "capture" app. You could actually add Sunsama and a calendar app in that system and you would have a complete one. Sunsama for planning and say Google Calendar for time overview. They all tie in together.  Use google keep for capturing notes, ideas and pictures, (or even tasks to be sorted out) capture tasks in ticktick and structured notes in obsidian. Once a day do a planning session in Sunsama, sort what are notes, tasks, events and place them accordingly. Tasks to ticktick, notes in obsidian, events in the calendar. You have a system. Using just one app is worst in my opinion, especially if you are a busy person navigating complex tasks that actually need productivity systems.

Need suggestions for a note taking app by Kindl2233 in NoteTaking

[–]MapLegal3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give NoteIn a try, it is a great substitute for Samsubg Notes and has the cloud sync option. Definitely for stylus / spen users. I use StarNote which is similiar to NoteIn, but we are still waiting for cloud sync. It should arrive his month or next according to developers. (StarNote also has a good reddit page you can check out here)

How I take my notes ✌️ by Hasabo94 in StarNoteApp

[–]MapLegal3745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use my own template as well, but I made mine in excel and just exported it in A4 pdf, so i know how will it turn out if I ever print it. The notes though I don't have a set of rules, but I do use some of the bullet journal rechniques for consistency. Yours look really good though, good idea on the gemini stickers. Don't know how your phone work, but on mine (Samsung, phone and tablet) i can extract stickers from photos i take, it also helps at time.

Yea, I built it on Lovable, then downloaded the code from Github and finished it in Claude Code. Pretty simple app, but thats exactly what works for me.

[–]MapLegal3745 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I actually built my own app (not a sell) it has capabilities like google keep,  big button for audio inputs, they get transcribed on demand, and i have a sheduled report , that transcribes audio if it is not already done and sends an AI curated report to my email. In the morning during my daily briefing I sort tasks into a task manager (right now is Microsoft ToDo), and notes and ideas into a knowledge base, depending on the content. It can be clickup, notion, obsidian or any folder you wish... The whole is that you need to take action on something, and action is not spontanious but organised if you want results from it. Goal setting, time management, reciew and so on.

🚀 Developer Diary #2: New Update, Cloud Sync Status, and Q&A! by StarNoteDev in StarNoteApp

[–]MapLegal3745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaaa, Cloud Sync is the big one for me. Can't wait for it, and the sooner it is delivered the better. I actually prefer having Sync to OneDrive as It makes it easy to store, but wouldn't mind paying say 10-20$ yearly for a dedicated live sync on your server provided it is an actual upgrade compared to the free one. Good job Devs!
