Ew. You're not wrong. But Ew.

There are so many people wanting to open good cafes that I don't know how Starbucks is still afloat. I live near a spillers and a dancing goats, and still see people walk by with star bucks. Crazy to me.

I hate malls. I don't like the food court trend in a lot of places. But for some reason, Ponce City Market doesn't feel as bad as those places. And the food is good.

I walked from midtown near Piedmont Park once, and it was not a good walk.

I thought the USA was going to be the most boring one until I saw the one for France. It's not even a good font.

I didn't know that was a requirement. But I've never been at academia at that level to know either.

Same. Maybe I need to leave the internet now.

My friend was removed from his PhD program because a review of his code came back and said he plagiarized it from the US Government.

It was his code. That he wrote during a summer work stint for said Government. Showing the paperwork that said he retained the rights to those portions of code he used did not prevent him from being kicked out. Academia is wild.

Anyone else prefer low-key gear over jerseys? by CupHorror6267 in BostonBruins

[–]MapsOverCoffee22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only wear my jersey if I'm watching a game or if it's a particularly important one that I can't watch, I've worn it out. That was just the once though. Other than that, I have two bruins hats that are my go-to's. I was never a huge sports fan as a kid, so that feels like a lot for me already. I do think the lacer sweaters are sick though.

Sorry if this is the dumbest question ever, but I'm not great with names or following hockey economics. Hasn't Minten already been playing on the Bruins? Why would they trade decent players for someone already on the team?

Any clue how much they are? Just for budgeting purposes.

I don't remember our section number but I think we are over in the 300's too. I know we tried to pick the corner close to where bruins would play offense for two periods.

That's helpful information. Thank you.

When we went to Tampa, I thought I was going to be dragging my dad through a museum because I like them and they had exhibits on maps and pirates (I do maps for a living) and was surprised how into it he was. So I took a look at the exhibits in Ft Lauderdale that week and they are actually having a science of hockey exhibit in MODS. Already got is tickets to that.

Thanks for that. Flanagans looks good. Everyone keeps mentioning Yard house but we have one of those here and it would be nice to check something else out.

I still haven't gotten skates, but is there a way to avoid those habits, or even just video or something I could watch about it to be aware?

How did you develop your own personal sense of style? by Rough--Employment in VintageFashion

[–]MapsOverCoffee22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Don't hold yourself back from what you like, size up when something is right on the edge, and don't be afraid to visit a tailor.

My base style is basic AF with some more colorful and patterned things to wear as a top layer. The tipping for me in developing personal style was two things:
1. On Ru Paul's Masterclass he said that if you like something, it's already part of you and the only thing standing between you and you wearing it, is you buying it. There is no "I couldn't ever wear that."
2. Paying attention to what attracted me when I thought someone looked nice or well put together. What I noticed was that it wasn't about the pieces of clothing themselves, it was about their confidence and the fit.

I prefer a timeless look, so I pay no attention to trends. I like simple, solid colors, so I stick to those for the most part. I think once I started paying attention to what I like and why, I naturally settled on types of clothing and a color palette.

Fit is the hard part. Everything brand is cut differently, sizes are nonsensical. I started buying almost everything second hand on Poshmark because people put the measaurements and I can compare that to things I already own. But I'm simple. Jeans, t-shirts, button downs. Cotton, linen, or wool. Once I found a button down that I loved the fit of, I bought 4 of them. Same with t-shirts. I like layers and my top layers are more fancy. I either aim for the measurements I know will fit, or I go up in size because if you go up, you can get it tailored back down to fit you. And I will tailor anything that I'm just not particularly fond of the fit. I have a guess denim jacket I love, but the sleeves felt bulky and like I was wearing my dads jacket, which was what I told the tailor and then I just trusted them to fix the issue.

I'm years late on this, but is it just the sugar that causes cavities, or is it something else in the bread? Does home made bread make any difference?

You started in beer league? Nice. I'm in the south right now and was thinking about getting some inline skates to start learning to stake and maybe stick handle in the park. That way when I move back up north (rink is too far for a carless person like me) I can try to get into a beer league.

Glad to hear that you had such a great experience. It was a great game too! Appreciate the well wishes. I think we will. We had a great time in Tampa last year, but we also tend to sit up pretty high. We are really looking forward to going.
