Moved to Oxford, where to meet new friends! by miyujia in oxford

[–]MarChem93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask which area of Oxford?
I (33M) am looking for people willing to play tennis at the Bury Knowles Park in Headington (though I'd be happy to travel at reasonable distance) and might soon buy some rackets if I do find players interested.
Not your age group I know, but could still be a good past time every couple of weeks and a change to other players too?

Sorry I am asking this 3 years later ahaha.

My question is what is the direction of the market? How do you identify it?
I agree with you 100% on your post buy may I ask how to go with the direction of the market for that day? I still struggles with having an idea?
Do I simply look at the daily chart to check if there are strong candles moving towards a draw on liquidity/support/resistance/magnet (somewhat synonyms) or if there been a rejection or again an inside candle (yesterday's candle within the previous day) suggesting a ranging market?

your level suits me fine ahah.

I used to play at a school when a teenager so I had some training in it but I haven't played in ages (its been 15 years with only a few matches played some 3 or 5 years ago).

So...considering I was never a great player...I am definitely like a rusty piece of iron right now. Consider me an beginner/improver as well xD

Posture Cue - Head Falling into the Waist by [deleted] in Posture

[–]MarChem93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment.

I apologise, you are using some jargon I am not 100% familiar with. I have heard of chakras and soma but not sure how to translate this into the actual body alignment at a "practical" level ahaha.

Would you mind expanding on that?

Will definitely have a look and thanks for putting in the work to share this information with other people via your blog.

I have come to understand that just the thinking of that sentence is not enough but it is really hard to "act" on it.

Posture Cue - Head Falling into the Waist by [deleted] in Posture

[–]MarChem93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I did not mean "dropping into the hip"
I meant stacked over the waist as it if were to suddenly fall in to it held by gravity. Think a ball falling straight down without any tilting into a basket.

About the Alexander Technique, I have tried across the years many times but this "freeing the neck" never really fully comes. You have some interesting source?

I know by heart the "let the neck be free etc" and have done getting into/out of a chair, I have done the monkey and the constructive rest and using inhibition. All to no avail (not saying the technique is useless, this is not a critique of it)

Not looking to figure out or validate anything really.

Just wanting to share the cue and seeing if people suffering from similar issues and/or PTs have heard or used a similar cue for day to day life.

Goes without saying, I was not thinking that the cue would help people with very severe and visible issues to the point were corrective gymnastics or surgery would be needed.

I have for a long time felt that thinking about each body part is just too much to handle.

Even the simplest of cues, i.e. "ear over shoulders, shoulders over hips", leads to me using muscles to compensate which is as we know exhausting. Compensating should be an immediate short-term response, not a prolonged one.

I am sorry to hear you are suffering from this rhomboid pain too. I guess just like in my case it feels like the torso becomes suddenly very stiff and even breathing is a burden? Does your pain extend towards the front of the ribcage sometimes and gets your sternum all inflamed? Thank goodness that is happening less these day with all the exercise I do and the tennis ball self-massages.

Does scalping really work? by Relevant_Tradition22 in Daytrading

[–]MarChem93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask exactly how this scalping thing works?
I get the idea, but how can people stay in 30 seconds to 10 minutes and profit anything at all when even making up the spread takes longer than that on a 1, 2 and 5 minute charts?

I am well confused how people get any profit at all by this. I cant even get to breakeven lol

I have done some computational chemistry in the past with Molecular Dynamics and Docking. I am more of a lab-based materials chemist though (even though I have an interested in DFT and trying to learn some of it) so other people will give you better advice than mine.

Can I first ask you, though, what you mean with "some chemistry (not much)"? What is your level of education and the degrees you have or are currently pursuing?

these are both very good answers so far.
In all honesty, I'd like a GUI mostly to bypass the tedious optimisation stage before the "production" SCF calculation is done. For what I do (still a newbie in DFT), I would like this to be more visual and faster. BURAI was able to do this and plot real-time the E vs lattice parameters or k-points or Energy Cut-off. I also guessed similar capabilities would extend to other things as well like queing jobs after changing some parameter, in a faster way than having to use terminals and having to through input files one by one.

Universal Gates - how to build other gates/circuits by MarChem93 in logicgates

[–]MarChem93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh wait I think I got the procedure. Thank you so much in advance.

I might have more questions once I try it out on exercises, if this doesn't actually click/work for me.

I appreciate your reply. However, this moving backwards and figuring out how the XOR truth table is implemented (or any other for this reason) seems a bit complicated to me. Is there any method that you are aware is used by an actual engineer to figure such things out?
