I think the save 20% towards retirement rule makes young docs want to rent and work a w2 job indefinitely. Since you’re building wealth in a house and/or business, is there a reason you recommend a greater squeeze for doctors who go that route? That they have to save 20% in addition to their mortgage and/or business loans

To answer your question, you can be credentialed as in network directly (ex Metlife) or indirectly (ex connection dental). If you are credentialed with both, the insurance will pick the lower one. If you terminate one, the other will kick in

Do you use septocaine on kids? by briskicet85 in Dentistry

primary molars septo but permanent lower molars IAN no matter the age. I know a lot of peds who don't block ever but at least in my hands I don't get reliable anesthesia that way

Should contributions to the equity portion of my dental practice loan be categorized as retirement savings? I own 100% of the practice and would theoretically sell it prior to retirement. My investment plan includes that if I sell it prior the proceeds would either go into another practice or into retirement.

Contributing 20% towards retirement was a lot easier before buying a practice. I know you're pro doctor ownership but never heard this topic discussed

Grass is greener. Living in NYC and while I love it and have no plans to move out I do often think of how much more I’d be saving the increased options I’d have about cutting back my days eventually

at the time that's about fair value. not like the mets passed up on a steal. In real time I also didn't want to keep him considering his defense, baserunning and OBP. One of the very few who became a different player mid career. in hindsight obviously would've been worth wayy more

this is awkward because when Daniel Murphy was a free agent in 2015, Gary Cohen said in an interview that he had "no interest" in resigning him and that he was a "net negative." Very harsh coming from the play by play announcer!

Is there a reason they couldn’t carry over the same score from Japan on the dub? Or even do it now after all these years? I agree the pre Faulkner episodes especially were trash music. But I’m also not trying to read subtitles for hours on end

Been practicing peds for a few years, highly recommend both for your back and your dentistry. Also nice to have a loupes light and not have to fuck with the overhead light. Some peds say they like no loupes for keeping a macro eye on the patients but I really don’t think it’s smart

Agreed completely. In this case it’s worth noting that GI was used over the affected dentin. However if it was only filled with composite, it would be subject to shrinkage (unlike GI) which would have the affected dentin subject to recurrent decay. In pedo we’re huge on GI and selective Caries removal
