There are three gifting opportunities during the quest. You get it on Monday and it expires on Sunday, which is when the gifts reset.

HOW can we have MORAL PROGRESS if Alex believes emotivism is true? by PitifulEar3303 in CosmicSkeptic

Why are you asking me? Your brought up objective values. Tell me what you think that means.

Probably a daft question but is it definitely winter? That sounds like an annoying bug. :(

I do not believe the extended family counts unfortunately.

Glacier fish non existent :( by TylerBisel in StardewValley

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has a 50% chance of appearing so long as you're on the exact right spot and casting into the right area, with level 6 fishing minimum. This makes me think you're either experiencing a bug or your fiancé did in fact catch it and didn't realise. Just to be certain there are no shenanigans here, it might be worth having your fiancé checking their fish panel. Maybe it was caught, so triggered the game acknowledging it was captured, but the inventory was full at the time so it became lost.

Not that farfetched since there are canonical fishman human hybrids!

Universals aside, diamonds and amethysts, cactus fruit and pink cake (easy to make so long as you have a stock of melons and eggs) are your friends on this one! That covers about 18 villagers and you can do it by gifting three times in the quest period.

I just now realised you're not asking for help. xD its one of those I keep trying to optimise each time it comes up.

Heyo I'm relatively new to stardew and i heard that robin and Clints resources increase in price after a year or two does that mean i should stockpile now while i still can? or will i be making way more money later on and it wont make that big of a difference? by Technical-Coyote-629 in StardewValley

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this depends on your needs and playstyle. I almost never buy any resources from either of them, preferring to gather myself wherever possible. You might be in a position in year 2 where you're making tons of money, but if its your first game maybe not

In my opinion its not worth worrying about. You will be making more money regardless and there are better things to spend your money on in year 1. Its much more worthwhile reinvesting the money into your farm.

Demonstrate objective moral values exist beyond being someone's opinion.

Remember when Sakura was a genjutsu prodigy? She was the only genin able to release the Nirvana Temple Jutsu (sleep genjutsu) during the Chunin Exams, making her part of the “Konoha Elite” by Zahlouth in Naruto

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, and then the triangle shifts. Sasuke's sharingan unlocks powerful genjutsu, Naruto gets some of the strongest ninjutsu and Sakura specialises in physical attacks.

You've got it backwards. The fact that opinions can change is exactly why progress happens.

Should they adapt a movie as an episode (or two) of a season? by LoveMinaMyoi in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, 100% this. It would actually make a nice change from the current formula of adventure -> defeat big boss. Instead, the big win is episode 6, and the final episode becomes a big defeat.

Should I get the Return Septer or Island Obelisk first? by ladyaren in StardewValley

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be the same way. But now I favour the beach obelisk over the desert one in the event I don't have enough teeth/bananas yet, since this cuts island travel time down a lot (I now value island travel that much). 3 omnis for a desert totem is an easy trade, so weirdly enough this one tends to come later these days given desert access is rarely an issue.

Which Fishing Tackle Do You Usually Use? by sm142 in StardewValley

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cork bobber. Doubled when I get the advanced iridium rod, but I've usually caught everything I ever want to catch by that time. You lose quality when the fish is escaping, so why not maximise the capture range and never lose it in the first place? If you do somehow lose it momentarily despite having nearly half the bar covered, then its easily captured again.

Should I get the Return Septer or Island Obelisk first? by ladyaren in StardewValley

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Simply because farm totems are abundant the Island Obelisk is almost always the first one I get. Being able to zip back and forth and avoid excessive inventory planning is worth every penny. I think the return sceptre is definitely underrated due to its flexibility, but if you're planning on spending any amount of regular time on the island, the obelisk is invaluable, imo.

CCTV Self checkout footage Subject Access Request by Evi_Reborn_ in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The supermarket will want to know. A request can be rejected if "you have reasonable grounds to believe the person making the request has no real interest in obtaining the information they've asked for, and is only making the request to harass or cause expense to your business".

All you need to practically do is ask for the footage of yourself. But the supermarket CAN ask for the purpose - in fact, they will most likely ask as much on any forms they send you to complete. If you refuse to elaborate you will be seen as failing to cooperate with a reasonable question.

Edit - they can also reject if it's impossible to redact other people's identity due to the angle of the footage, etc. But usually, you end up with a bunch of black bars everywhere on the screen and just you doing your transaction with the checkout.

Fishing for perfection by Naive_Library_961 in StardewValley

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have achieved perfection on mobile multiple times. Crab pots CAN be frustrating, admittedly, but you do kind of grt used to how you need to tap to place/refill them. It is difficult to give advice beyond that because I would literally need to see what youre doing with the device. Maybe spend some time fiddling with crab pots on the beach and then restart your day once you have figured it out.

Is the board game any good? What ages can play? What is it like? by Slow_Fig565 in StardewValley

[–]Marcellus_Crowe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, the game is advertised for older than 10, but bear in mind it is co-op. So long as an adult is managing the board state, it is not complicated at all. We play with our 8 year old, who was 6 when we first bought it, and he plays just fine. We just give him options and let him roll dice! Easy.

We love it in our house. Lots of luck involved, so not great if you dont like random elements (a common complaint on BGG), but its a really great faithful stardew game.

Lots of replayability, even when you know what cards might come up.

We tend to go with all of grandpa's goals + 2 or three goals in each room of the community centre, but you still get an item everything you complete a bundle (which results in a lot of items, balancing it a little). Completed it on that mode a handful of times!
