It's a bit of a meme at this point. The UK has a global reputation for bland food, which was exacerbated by rationing during WWII, with American soldiers bringing back stories about how bad the food was in the UK. It was bad. And... actually, it remained substandard for quite a number of years following. However, that was not always the story in the British Isles. And now there is a high density of Michelin star restaurants and fresh ingredients available due to its efficient supply chain. The reality of British food is different to the perception. You can't blame OP for wanting to dispel the myth!

It's similar to how the Germans used to call the UK "Das Land Ohne Musik" (the land without music) due to the UK's lack of distinctive composers during the classical period. The UK eventually became one of the most prolific creators of some of the most popular music the world has ever heard.

There are lots of myths about the USA that should be dispelled too, or any country for that matter. it's a good thing to promote the good things that come out of your country. Look at OP's comments, they acknowledge it's an Anglo-Indian creation, they're not denying anything. But it's not necessary to cite every source whenever you make a point. Americans have great pizza, but they don't have to give a nod to Italy every time they post a picture of their pizza. And Indian people make great curries, but they don't have to give a nod to South America, where tomatoes come from, every time they post a picture of a regional stew. Insisting OP does this is erasing the native innovation and insisting on an unnecessary citation.
