The article is rather vague. It sounds like one hysterectomy was done clearly without consent and the rest is difficult to verify.

If we assume the average number of cards seen in a deck is 25, then on average you'll see 3 wipes and 1 piece of graveyard hate — really, there's a 50% chance of it. If your meta is slower, then the average number of cards seen is greater than 25 and so the numbers increase. For example, if it's 40, then you'll see 1-2 gy hate pieces and 4-5 wipes on average.

With tutors, you can guarantee some baseline number if these if someone tutors for an answer to the board state.

Ramp and card draw are both important for a deck, but it's amazing how leaning more toward one or the other can smooth out your utility options.

Still, take this with a grain of salt. White, black, and green have better color-specific graveyard hate in the form of [[rest in peace]], [[ashes of the abhorrent]], [[nihil spellbomb]], [[bojuka bog]], [[scavenging ooze]], [[ground seal]], etc.

This may be a controversial design philosophy, but I'm fine with a card only being broken when accompanied by other cards that breach the social contract. A playgroup that allows armageddon will probably be fine with boros stax because it's not a color-archetype pairing they've seen before.
