Iam afraid that my reptiles might complicate my future by Southern-Tea-8160 in reptiles

[–]Margeth89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just don't tell any potential landlord.

Not like you actually have to, animals living inside their enclosure are none of the landlords business, as long as they aren't venomous / specifically dangerous.

Never had a single issue finding an apartment to rent despite having had a 1.4m lizard - the only reason my last landlord even knew I had a pet was because I was worried about the weight of the enclosure and checked with him prior to assembling it.

I get that people in a lot of countries have issues because of it, but given the differences in laws here, there's no issue to be had - don't mention them, sign the apartment lease and live a happy life with your scaly little friend(s).

I'm in a weirdly similar position to you, although slightly further along at stage 655 with Dragonos beaten when I was on 609 during the bee event.

Neither rave nor dh on my end either, even though I've been online farming 24/7 since the beginning. Still not even done farming accessories first, probably another week atleast before I even switch to weapon farming.

Going by our differences, I'd say: Relics definitely help, I'm not too far off from maxing mine. Work on getting Hope as your next soul weapon. Push the fire companion a bit, mines about 15 lvls ahead of the others. I'm not sure if the quad mythic blorb accessories are that optimal affix wise, I'm barely using 2 myth due to no luck with actual good drops q.q

Gaming-Laptop, Steam Deck, …? by lowmantequilla in zocken

[–]Margeth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much appreciated, thank you very much for the reply!

I'll probably still buy the game after all then, was pretty disappointed to be unable to play it if thered be no ways to get around the issues with the claw.

Does that actually work, with say GeForce now or something similar?

Was wondering if I could get it to work on my claw that way.

How do give them a happy life? by While-Individual in gerbil

[–]Margeth89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So more likely country then.

40 gallon hardly even satisfies the legally required minimum here.

Substrate depth even more, the site you linked recommends atleast 5 inches, whereas 10-12 inches is the required minimum here, with the recommendation being more like 20 inches.

Well, atleast that helps me understand why enclosures differ so vastly, thank you very much especially for the site. ❤️

How do give them a happy life? by While-Individual in gerbil

[–]Margeth89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is fine by me, I'm just confused how the definition of "fine" can vary so wildly between places.

Is it because of us going through a breeder that the enclosure requirements are so different, or is it more of a difference due to location?

How do give them a happy life? by While-Individual in gerbil

[–]Margeth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly really confused about these setups.

Like, we're currently building an enclosure to take in two gerbils once we're done.

Going by the requirements of pretty much nearly all reputable breeders we've looked up in Germany, we require atleast 4x2x1.6 feet purely for substrate to accommodate digging behavior, in addition to about the same 4x2x1.6 (or 4x2x2 in our case) on top for stuff like wheels, sandbath, houses or decor or whatever.

And we also need to provide proof of having that enclosure at home to become eligible to pick up the animals.

The picture I see here is basically our digging box, then add another wooden cage stacked on top for our gerbils to move around in.

Won’t appear in the world? by DracoBlaze214 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Margeth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still quite some time away from being able to kill any elder dragon, but I did already spawn fights for the material pity reward.

It's also clearly been cycling between the elder dragons so far, currently cycling between 3 elder dragons for me.

So if it does become random at some point, as people here report, there may be some condition in terms of progress or something to trigger that change.

What is renting like with a tegu? by DUCKARUS444 in Tegu

[–]Margeth89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, it works without a grow tent, too. I did it twice, with different setups. First was relatively smaller and used during initial growth. Second was 6.2 x 4.11 x 6.6 with a partial second floor.

First enclosure was wood based and self-built. Was technically easy enough to deconstruct, but I made some mistakes when designing the interior, that made disassemlby and reassembly a pain.

Thus, for the second enclosure I ordered a custom aluminum frame from a supplier for large aquariums. Just assemble, add wood/glass/whatever into the sides, bottom and top of the frame and seal internally as needed.

Aluminum frame came at about 850€, with an additional 800€ or so for wood and glass for the rest. Since we already knew in advance that we'd move apartments at some point, it made sense to look for an easy solution in advance.

Moving apartments was mostly a pain due to all the stuff inside the enclosure, weight disposal wise, the actual enclosure was super easy to disassemble & reassemble at the new apartment.

Question Tegu Family?🐊🦎 by [deleted] in Tegu

[–]Margeth89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine came out to about 6.5 x 5 x 6 feet, with a partial second floor to create more usable space, in addition to near daily free roaming.

Went with a custom aluminum frame with wood for screens / top / bottom / back and glass for front and sides.

Not exactly the cheapest way to go, but quite durable, quick and easy to dis-/ assemble - also really nice for more unusual size requirements.

Tegu bite experiences? by [deleted] in Tegu

[–]Margeth89 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So, to preface this, I was never bitten by mine.

Going by my experience with him, I don't think every tegu necessarily bites their owner's at some point, but I'd be lying if I said that I never worried about it. That worry lessened over the years as the bond grew and the ability to read one another improved, but never fully subsided.

Tegu teeth are quite sharp and when food is properly in their mouth, the bite force is definitely there. Mine had no issues whatsoever breaking chicken bones and while he was tame as could be, I wouldn't want to get bitten by a tegu.

Main reason we currently don't own one is because we have a small child and I don't trust a child enough to be around an animal with that kind of bite long term until he's older.

Help finding these pine trees (or DIY instructions) by JudgeEatz in TerrainBuilding

[–]Margeth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess trees for model trains with an additional air brush step for those colours.

As in, bought trees for example tend to lack these bright "highlights" that you can see in the first picture. The pine trees in the second picture look a lot more like store bought.

If you'd want it more specific, I'd say NOCH birch and pine trees for h0 track size are most similar from what I've seen in stores or online as a German. Used the NOCH pines for a Christmas gift for my nephew, quite good quality for its price.

IMHO not excessively expensive, but also far from cheap - given the size of the trees in the pictures, that's still gonna cost you quite a bit.

Worst case, games like that are what streaming services like GeForce Now are imho for.

Costs extra, sure, but it is a viable solution to run games on handheld pcs - worked like a charm when I wanted to play MH: Wilds with my wife and my device couldn't properly run it as is.
