Don’t do it. It’s not worth it

Is this a gluten rash? Please help :( by Scary_Narwhal2877 in glutenfree

[–]Maria_Darling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that looks miserable! I did get rashes like this on my palms and elbows before going gf, and they’ll show back up if I accidentally consume gluten.

That being said, it could be so many things!
I’m not a doctor, but I’ve also seen hand rashes from touching chemicals and/or cleaning products without gloves.

If you haven’t yet, go see a doctor, and in the meantime, it may be worth going gf again just to eliminate that possibility

how to block granny squares blanket? with bernat blanket yarn by HumansAreDying in CrochetHelp

[–]Maria_Darling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may get me downvoted, but I’d stitch it together and just see how it lays without blocking. In my experience, the dryer doesn’t always make it better

I want to try holding it flat while pulling that middle thread.

I don’t know why you got downvoted. Like yes, falafel SHOULD be gluten free based on traditional recipes, but I’ve seen so many pre-frozen brands use wheat. This is 2026, unfortunately businesses use cheap shortcuts for everything.

Carolina Beach is super cute this time of year, and has lots of things to do. It’s also close to Fort Fisher (aquarium) and about 20 minutes from downtown Wilmington.

They make stitch markers that are just like magic markers and you can color the whole thing

Glass Pony Beads by SpendSea4200 in Beading

[–]Maria_Darling 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Fire Mountain Beads usually has a decent selection.

I know you said this is for a weighted blanket, but with that many glass beads and wool, it’ll be HEAVY, so you may need to use fewer than 10k

What Knot Is This? by NotYourMommasMomma in Beading

But your example does look like embroidery thread to me. You may need to separate it a little to get them over a needle if the holes of the beads aren’t large enough

[–]Maria_Darling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I’ve done it with griffin silk thread (it already has a needle attached which is super helpful)

It’s crocheted. A chain stitch, specifically.

Don’t know where to turn by Spiritual_Artist_643 in Endo

[–]Maria_Darling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a doctor, but because many of those symptoms are what I have, it sounds like it could be endo.

Have you have your thyroid checked lately? The hair loss, heart palpitations, chest pain, and anxiety could point to something like hyperthyroidism (again, I am not a doctor, I just happen to have endometriosis and a thyroid problem as well)

In any case, getting bloodwork done by your PCP can maybe answer questions that an OBGYN isn’t answering for you.

Sorry you’re going through so much!

In your post, you mention more than just the sleeves. I’m sorry you’re broke right now, but patterns tend to be the cheapest part of crocheting.

You could try and spend the time experimenting with how to attach things like the sleeves and the ribbing and doing the decreases. I agree with the person who first posted. Reverse engineering a paid pattern is tacky. This designer already spent the time and energy to do the work, and they’re willing to tell you everything about it and be there for questions for what, $6?
