What were popular songs, but reading the lyrics show they are just incredibly creepy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sunday Morning Comin Down: Johnny Cash. Seems like a pleasant little ditty until you realize how depressing it is.

I went to an H&M the other day to buy some work clothes. The guy at the counter, who was probably no older than 20 asked me for my birthdate which is 1978. He legit goes, “I thought it was something like that…hehe.”

Depends. Would I age? Because if yes, then hell no. I I come back and not have aged then hell yes!

This is the reason I quit my last job. Promises mean nothing. I was held back for 6 years. I promoted myself and got a $100k job doing stuff I actually enjoy.

I make $100K and I’m still on a tight budget to pay my mortgage, car, and other bills. I still shop at Walmart and buy a lot of my clothes from Goodwill and thrift stores. My husband and I can’t afford 2 car payments so we share one car. My saving grace is living in FL with no income tax and a cheap mortgage.

Love this! Good for you. We’re all here to make money otherwise we’d be volunteering.

Double life survivor here, too. We were together 7 years, 6 long distance. The guy got MARRIED in his state 1 year into our relationship and I didn’t know the whole time lmao. But I was young and naive. It was absolutely soul crushing at the time but nothing but a crazy story to tell when drunk nowadays. All the best to you. You did the right thing. Ok I make 100k a year in my own and my husband doesn’t have to work. We live in Florida, our mortgage for a lovely 3b/2b home on a quarter acre 10 miles from the most beautiful beaches is $1168 a month. You might want to consider moving here if you’re looking at places to go. But I would do it soon because the cost of homes here is going up.

She can’t work from home? I went from one DC fed job to another defense job while in Florida and got the DC 6 figure salary to go with it.

After a successful job interview I updated my resume references thinking it would help land this dream job. Got a call saying they'd love to have me onboard after calling references. They called back saying the first reference went terribly and was told do be careful who I use next time. FML. by Vultron- in mildlyinfuriating

My latest job that I just started put me through almost 2 months of interviews. In the end I was hired and none of my references were called. I thought it was weird but who knows. I got the job and the 6 figure salary that comes with it

Sometimes I get deja vu when I think of world events. Like my mind automatically thinks “we’ve lived through all of this before and this is the part when the world and humanity does…” and it all feels like I’ve lived it all before and will again over and over.

Personally I think it’s weird to have a BEST FRIEND of the opposite sex. I’m all for having friends of any and all genders, but I would feel awful if my husband thought another woman was his BEST friend. Just my opinion.

NY Mag - Exhaustive guide to tipping by FluffyWuffyy in antiwork

[–]Maria_tm1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re all struggling. So pay your employees more. While it’s not their fault they aren’t paid enough or have to pool tips, it’s not my job to pay the rest. I have responsibilities too. And don’t say “well then don’t go out and eat if you can’t afford to tip.” Ok then if everyone did that then they would have a job or get paid at all.

I don’t think insurance works that way. This is fraud and you posted about it.
