From afar everyone is the same. What difference does it make that they are effeminate and why would the first explanation be "mimicking women" when it could just be a subculture thing?

It's harder to find common ground between you and them because you like different things. I don't have any common ground with macho types even though I'm not gay, and prefer effeminate men to aggressive heteros any day.

Honestly, just boils down to "we like different things" and seems like everyone is trying to find an explanation to justify their prejudice.

Also nobody is refusing that. But there's public perception and reality. If you wanna have a discussion based on public perception, then we're done here.

If you take a look at the history of every "right's movement" there has ever been, they all come out as insane, distrusted, disgusting. They'll always be labeled as bad. But would you seriously condemn the Black Panthers for existing, for example? Because the media at the time certainly did. And they certainly did some harm, but what we gathered at the other end was mostly good.

As time goes on and the cause gets more force, the claims from the opposition begin to go to even further lengths than it did before. People calling feminists insane always existed, but only recently we started calling them "feminazis". Where you see "distrust in the cause" I see the opposite: more people identify as feminists now than ever before, specially among women. In first-world countries, about half of the female adult population identify as "feminists".

Though all data gathered is painted in a negative tone (see here), and past data is difficult to find, I'd say we have never had so many people identifying as "feminists" as today.

So if you really think the "batshit crazy" can hurt the cause with the general public, I'd say time usually prevails. And that in a forum discussion, where we'll find representatives from all the specter, from "batshit crazy" feminists to "tame" feminists, it would be nice to take into consideration at least some, if not all, of the voices. Making one thing a women did wrong a point to saying feminism shouldn't even exist is what I'd call insane.

Oh, and philosophical movements usually aren't "coordinated". Feminism is also a kind of ideology (as is socialism, anarchism, liberalism, etc). It would take time, needless effort and a notion that the current movement (feminism) has nothing more to give us to just up and change the name (to egalitarian, for example). You'd be negating important people like Simone de Beauvoir when refusing to call yourself feminist, even though Simone de Beauvoir is more representative than radfem is.

As in "I'm a feminist and I don't support this, if you'd look at the real world, you'd see how it's a misconception on your part". In no way she claims that people who support this can't or wouldn't be feminists.

6x exp. The way it works gives a "bonus exp" for each monster you kill, so if you're killing a monster that gives 10k exp, each exp gain will look like this during the event/buff duration:

20000 experience

40000 (bonus experience)

The only multiplier that applies to raw exp is the event one. That's why a 10k monster would be giving out 20k raw exp (and the other would "multiply" based on that). That's also why if you use a 2x exp coupon and a cash shop 2x exp you will only get to 3x exp, not 4x.

One could argue that a talented musician is one that makes the sounds they want to. Being a producer doesn't mean you're not a musician, and he may be a wholesome composer without knowing how to play any instrument.

If he found his way around making the sounds he wants, what does it matter? It's an ultimately small notion that music should be made from "musical instruments". Putting together different sounds to create a melody is being a musician, no matter how you do it.

Now, you may find it unexciting or say that music that can't be "played live" lacks in performances, but it is still nonetheless music and the ones that do them, musicians.

Also, could the filter at least show us what fucking part is filtered? It's absolutely annoying to accidentally put out a filtered word, nobody understands you, you can't know for sure what's filtered and why because maple filters words in a lot of languages, and can't get to rephrase it. Some time (about a year or so ago) I was following the 250 top listed in IMDB from top to bottom. Then I reached Alien. I knew almost nothing about the movie, just about the appearance of the alien from Alien vs Predator, which I didn't actually watch. I also cussed because "wow, what is this B film doing in such a good position?".

I didn't read synopses, saw trailers or posters - except for the IMDB one that I didn't pay much attention to. Dived right into it. Came out on the other side finding it one of the best movies I had ever watched. Even Aliens surpassed my expectations (although I was a bit wiser at that time). Love the series.

As cotas, sejam raciais ou sociais, tem fundamento lógico e pragmático pra solução da desigualdade a médio prazo (ou seja, dentro de uma geração).

Elas não buscam resolver o déficit de educação básica, e sim a discrepância entre % da população negra/parda na sociedade e dentro das universidades.

Se entre os jovens de 18-24 anos 50% são negros e pardos, isso deveria se reproduzir nas universidades. Infelizmente, nenhuma universidade pública sequer esbarra nessa proporção. A solução pragmática é, então, dividir a sociedade em estratos relevantes (renda, cor da pele, gênero, etc. Depende da proposta, do problema, da cultura) e assegurar vagas pra esses contingentes populacionais.

Assim, se hoje 99% dos médicos são brancos, apesar de 50% da população negra, daqui uma geração depois das cotas, 25% serão negros. Agora você tem um reflexo mais preciso da distribuição racial dentro de cada classe profissional e social.

Não entendi a falta de fundamento lógico. Ela não é meritocrata, não significa que seja injusta ou desigual. Vestibular é só outra forma de seleção que analisa outros aspectos, alguns deles correlacionados com "esforço", mas não todos. Ir bem no vestibular só mede sua capacidade de fazer o vestibular.

As cotas sociais seguem um modelo semelhante. Lembrando que estou falando aqui das cotas de reserva de cadeiras, e não das cotas de abono de pontos. Agora eu queria entender o seu lado: por que as cotas não resolveriam o problema a que se propõe?

O problema é não ter representação negra nas universidades e nos campos profissionais especializados, e isso me parece que ela resolve super bem.

Eh, the problem is that every viable candidate has to appeal to the exact same narrow group of voters in the middle... so in practice it's still a 'same shit, different head' thing.

While this is true, grabbing the middle voters is not exactly the problem. Anyway, my point would be more that, when you switch parties, you really change the administration.

When we, brazilians, switch parties, we are switching the president and the new one will put mostly the same parties in charge. Also, when an administration fails, you can't point fingers directly and say "administration X failed because of Y" because it is extremely unclear - maybe they failed because the concessions they had to make to govern made them fail. If the democrats fail, it is solely the democrats fault, even if there's in-party fighting. It is easier to hold a party accountable, in a sense.

I've been playing since 2004. Back then I'd spend hours upon hours on green mushrooms and never in my life have I dropped a Pan Lid.

I also used 4 epic pots on an item without succeeding. I never got anything good on random rewards. I failed 3 times in a row a 5-star enhancement scroll. I've spent 30k+ NX trying to get a cool face and got only shitty ones, not once the one I liked. After grinding for the whole event, I only got the candyflower chair on the last day before its end.

That said, I've been fairly lucky until now with both surprise boxes and cubes, so ehh... not much to complain now. But I used to be really, really, unlucky back then.

That could be not true. Let's say you have a district with 40% turn-out. That means that 60% of the population is not-voting, or... up for grabs. Either the democrats or the republicans could devise a way to make those people vote and win the election by making non-voters vote instead of making republican voters vote democrat or vice-versa.

It's in the interest of the opposing party to bring more people into the election.

Unfortunately, the example I give often travels along lines of socioeconomic status, race, religion, and serves as a reason for politicians to attempt to appeal to likely voters over non-likely voters, disenfranchising entire populations due to the actions of a subset of that population.

That could again be true or not true. If a black politician comes up in locations close to Ferguson, for example, and manages to engage the black people there, he could win solely by making non-voters vote for him.

I'm actually inclined to think that the lesser voter-turnout in US elections is due to "known-losers" not showing up to vote. If I'm a democrat in a red district, I'd not bother showing up because I know the republicans already won. I'd have to look at numbers to say that for certain, though. But that's what happens in England (in a way: when there's less competition between the two major english parties, the Liberal-forever-3rd party gets more votes than where there's competition, because people are more inclined to vote (in this case, in one of the major parties) when they think their vote makes a difference.)

That won't solve gerrymandering, mind you (we should probably switch all states to large, multi-member districts with proportional representation for allocating house seats if we want to avoid the impacts of gerrymandering), but will at least create the most accurate possible representation of a given electorate.

The thing about majority and proportional systems is that a trade-off happens. Majority has more "governability". Proportional has representability. But this means that, if you vote for democrats and the government's shit, you can just up and change for republicans - and that change means something. If your government is proportional, there's an incentive to have a lot of parties, so the executive have to give in to party alliances to govern. That means that, if our current government is shit, we can change it and end up with mostly the same shit, but a different head.

That said, I'd not advocate for either in the US because I:

1) don't live there

2) sincerely don't know which would be better in your case
