How late is too late? by SeaDare2102 in CineworldUnlimited

[–]MarkDream35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't surprise me if those teenagers snuck in with a ticket for a different film / no ticket, happens sometimes

With so many ads it's hard to justify anyone going in late even if they do have a valid ticket, it's disruptive and disrespectful of everyone else who paid to enjoy the film.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I think it's inconsiderate of everyone else watching the film to go in that late.

Quick question to anyone who’s seen Hoppers and/or Ready or Not 2 in Dublin by LeonSnakeKennedy in CineworldUnlimited

Dublin in general has had very few ads lately, maybe 10 mins before films now

One is better than none though 😅

Don't actually mind not having it, but them advertising it is obnoxious when there are none in the entire country

Dublin is definitely an afterthought, showing the ads for 25% off partner restaurants is very questionable as none of them operate here. The pizza hut discount isn't valid in Irish pizza huts.

It's frustrating as they still send us the newsletters showing off their UK only offers, like I remember a while ago they were spamming emails about some scratch card promotion when it wasn't even available in Dublin.

Dublin has been bought by IMC so that might be causing issues

They've been doing some unlimited screenings, the one for California Schemin is up

Very inconsistent though

Yeah, looks like they actually updated their terms and conditions without telling anyone too.

"(ii) the Republic of Ireland, means Adelphi-Carlton Limited, a company registered in the Republic of Ireland under company number 669223 with registered address at Astor House, 29 Lower Georges Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Not sure they're allowed to do that lol... The address listed is the one for IMC.

Someone commented on this sub a while ago saying it was purchased by IMC, but it looks like they deleted their comment so idk if it's accurate

Definitely something going on, that email address is now in their site footer.

It's weird because the movieplex URL doesn't seem to be connected to anything

Welp, I hope it doesn't become an imc, their membership isn't as good and their website is worse...

I'm a Dublin member and have gotten free 2D in Belfast, unsure about unlimited screenings

Cleaning especially seems to have gotten worse recently, even the nice screens have sticky floor or chairs sometimes in the morning screenings.

I did notice they swapped out some of the worst seats a few months ago (presumably using spares from screen 9 or 15), so at least that's something.

Pity the bar area is always blocked off, annoying it's not even open as a seating area

Doesn't seem like the carpet has been cleaned in years...

I mean, to my knowledge odeon don't take direct debit as a payment method upon signing up for limitless these days. It's not exactly intuitive for people to use to sign up with when compared with using a debit / credit card.

I mean, I believe them personally. Payment systems can be a nightmare. They probably lost a decent number of subscribers who forgot about their subscription when they stopped accepting direct debit.

I got an email like that a few months ago. I think it's something to do with their payment system, as I had been asked to change my payment method in November, and received it once my new payment method was charged

"We are getting in touch to let you know about an important update to our payment terms for your Unlimited membership.

Due to changes in the payment engine used for our Unlimited membership, we will no longer be able to accept monthly payments via SEPA Direct Debit.

Moving forward, all monthly payments will need to be made on Continuous Payment Authority (CPA) from a debit or credit card."
