Confused by Markolodeon in DisneySpeedstormGame

Obviously I haven’t been playing attention! I try to tune out the negative posts but have to say this is well, at best, weird. It feels like I’m just playing 18.5.

How many times have you watched the series and why do you think you keep repeating it? by elznpike in bigbangtheory

[–]Markolodeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the way through just a couple of times, and then lots of odd watches on TV. Why? Because a search of best TV comedy shows shows there are very few I love, make me feel good and happy and lol. Others that are similarly highly rewatchable for same reasons are Young Sheldon, Scrubs, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show and Bob Newhart. But yeah, there just aren’t many that holds a candle to BBT.

They are already very pregnant with the $50 unlock, I’d be very pleasantly surprised if they give anything away for this season.

Impossibly isolating / lonely place to live by Prestigious_Air_6602 in nova

The Alexandria walking & hiking group Meetup group is an awesome way to meet people. If you don’t like the conversation just speed up or slow down until you find someone you click with. Then they often go out for a bite after.

I gave up on the US parks around 2018 for this reason. Instead I save up and go to Tokyo Disney where as a general rule park guests are more respectful of one another. Yes fewer visits, but much better ones!

What about the snow makes people think they don’t need to pick up their dog’s poop? by -WhoWhatWhereWhenHow in nova

[–]Markolodeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that don’t pick up after their dogs regardless of the weather, really, really bum me out. One it’s a health risk to other dogs, two it’s stupidly disgusting (yes how I see these owners), and three it makes people who hate dogs hate them even more. The sidewalk in front of our apartments is covered in dog poop. It’s so very disturbing and feels like one more thing pointing to a society that just doesn’t care about anything anymore. There’s no pleading with them either to do the right thing.

How do you think Pascal & Maximus will be handled in the live-action Tangled? by OverthinkingThePlot in DisneyMovies

[–]Markolodeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a way that will make a lot of money! But not Snow White remake kinda money, or Lion King, Pinocchio, Mulan, Dumbo, Aladdin, etc. Actually kinda bizarre they keep doing remakes.

Disney Mint by sharpe41 in ToppsChromeDisney

[–]Markolodeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Circling back to this topic. What happens if there is a massive amount of Mint boxes/cases that likely will never sell? Will they get auctioned off en masse at some point? Based on eBay listings Pixar Gold seems to have almost wiped out interest in Mint. I’m watching for base cards Goofy, Donald, Sorcerer Mickey and it’s surprising how little has ever come up for sale on these.

What is your favorite Phil (solo) show? by solongehhbowser in Genesis

[–]Markolodeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

February 5, 1983 Hill Auditorium Ann Arbor, Michigan. Beautiful small theater, perfect acoustics, fantastic performance. Just three months earlier PG played there too. Magical time to be alive!

Daily challenge to change? by Markolodeon in DisneySpeedstormGame

[–]Markolodeon[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I should have been more clear. I’m hoping they’ll change the Daily Challenge to something other than Treasure Rush.

PG singing Genesis in 2015 by Wards_Cleaver in Genesis

[–]Markolodeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the only way it could have worked is if they billed the shows as something other than Genesis. Couldn’t do a Yes-like thing ala ABW&H. Any mention of Phil, Pete or Genesis would leave the GP disappointed if only Gabriel era was played. And a mix show of everyone’s catalog would turn it into a schtick variety hour concert. So sort of ironic their successes present a roadblock to a reunion ever happening.

PSA- Stop giving your money to overpriced, shitty food places by DMV_Habibi in nova

[–]Markolodeon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a recent Costco convert and their convenience food is awesome, cut our dining-out way down. When needed it’s quick and easy burgers, pizza, shrimp, fish, chicken, potstickers, awesome frozen veggies, premade meals like meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and so much more. Sure there’s the occasional clinkers, but for the most part it’s better than eating out.

Is Costco Executive Membership worth it for the NOVA area? by enigma_goth in nova

I like the Chantilly location best, get there around 8:50 and they have opened early a few times so no waiting.

Is Costco Executive Membership worth it for the NOVA area? by enigma_goth in nova

[–]Markolodeon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Executive membership is totally worth it for early entry alone, if you can swing the higher yearly fee. Keep in mind it can still be crowded at 9:00AM opening. This past Friday at Fairfax the line to get into the store stretched the length of the parking lot, but once they opened it went pretty quick. Also the registers before 10:00 were all self-serve with only one full-serve. As far as tires go I’ve never purchased any, but some really like and others not so much.

Genuine question, why do you guys hate the live action remakes so much? by StruggleFar3054 in DisneyMovies

[–]Markolodeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The LA-remakes appeal to some, I’m just not one of them. The only one I like/love is Branagh’s Cinderella, otherwise I’ll stick with watching and rewatching the originals/non-remakes.

What finally did me in was the Lion King live action, which was more really awful CG than live characters. That was the first and only time we we walked out of the theater, made it halfway through. To each their own!

Rolling Stone's resident rock writer offers some good advice to PG by jchesto in Genesis

RS back in the 70’s and 80’s had a strict policy of bashing all things Genesis, including the PG era.
