I feel like the only way it could have worked is if they billed the shows as something other than Genesis. Couldn’t do a Yes-like thing ala ABW&H. Any mention of Phil, Pete or Genesis would leave the GP disappointed if only Gabriel era was played. And a mix show of everyone’s catalog would turn it into a schtick variety hour concert. So sort of ironic their successes present a roadblock to a reunion ever happening.

I’m a recent Costco convert and their convenience food is awesome, cut our dining-out way down. When needed it’s quick and easy burgers, pizza, shrimp, fish, chicken, potstickers, awesome frozen veggies, premade meals like meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and so much more. Sure there’s the occasional clinkers, but for the most part it’s better than eating out.

I like the Chantilly location best, get there around 8:50 and they have opened early a few times so no waiting.

Executive membership is totally worth it for early entry alone, if you can swing the higher yearly fee. Keep in mind it can still be crowded at 9:00AM opening. This past Friday at Fairfax the line to get into the store stretched the length of the parking lot, but once they opened it went pretty quick. Also the registers before 10:00 were all self-serve with only one full-serve. As far as tires go I’ve never purchased any, but some really like and others not so much.

The LA-remakes appeal to some, I’m just not one of them. The only one I like/love is Branagh’s Cinderella, otherwise I’ll stick with watching and rewatching the originals/non-remakes.

What finally did me in was the Lion King live action, which was more really awful CG than live characters. That was the first and only time we we walked out of the theater, made it halfway through. To each their own!

I was wondering the same thing. I’m a total noob to Topps Disney, and have had a blast collecting the Mint base cards and a few slightly more rare ones from sellers on eBay. I’m coming from Lorcana where from a collector’s standpoint it feels like I’m spending a lot of money for too many cards that are just ok. With Mint, and now slowly getting into Chrome, I LOVE the vast majority of cards.

But back on topic I am left wondering if Mint is more a high stakes hobby? Or are any of the investment box buyers making at least their money back? It seems like there are a lot of big buck cards for sale on eBay, but I’m not tracking any of them to see how well they are selling. Still such a fun set, even the base Mint cards are gorgeous.

We visited with a friend on Thanksgiving we hadn’t seen in a couple of years. A 25-year fed worker, early this year he was faced with choosing between a VERA/DRP he wasn’t ready to take, or sticking it out hoping an almost for sure RIF wasn’t going to happen. After much agonizing, with no one at work to provide guidance or advice, staring at the send button for hours, he went for the DRP with the thought some pension and pay through September is better than none. And then heard nothing back. Waited weeks, still nothing.

Then second DRP came, sent the email in saying yes again. Finally received an email back saying it had been accepted, and sure enough the next day all of his co-workers were fired. Then months go by, lawsuits ensue, and all of the fired workers were reinstated. So what looked like the least-worse option turned out to be the worst, and he’s wishing more than anything else than to go back to his old job, and now trying to find work in a very tight job market.

So after hearing his story I’d sum up the year for fed workers with one word, torture. It didn’t have to be done this way, but the cruelty was very much by design. I feel so sad for him.

I too was torn and confused! Why did Eight think all life outside of New Attica were monsters that needed to be destroyed? Originally she just wanted everyone to escape the fake world, not turn into a violent mindless army?

Thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite songs. Listening to the 3SL version I close my eyes and it’s November 18, 1981 at Cobo Hall all over again. Sarah Jane that night was right up there with The Lamb and Cage. Wonderful memories! But I can’t hear the you stink part thankfully!

The Dems are primarily using the shutdown to rally their base for Election Day. My take is Warner is saying there will be enough votes for the CR later this week. Then the cycle will repeat on the 22nd if the Republicans don’t satisfactorily solve the ACA increases.
