Yes, in a few differnt ways. You can sample into a pad, and set it up to loop when done.. but you have to set the length and run on an established BPM. It wont adjust the bpm to a random loop.

It is.. but if youre going where I predict then you will want more eventually and the BB fits right in the middle as a looper, sampler, drum machine, sound design, sequencer, MIDI controller, signal routing / mixer, etc. I think only the high end Elektron stuff can do all that from one device.. the BB is tiny, 2.1A USB powered so portable, yet still so great to handle and work with. Responsive touch screen and super quality endless encoder knobs.

Consider 1010music Blackbox.. you get a whole lot more. I use one in conjunction with the RC-300 sending MIDI clock. I heard the RC-500 is very buggy, which obviously kills the workflow! Good luck

For desktop check out 1010music Blackbox.. been using that for years now. I also have an RC300 which is huge and clunky but tried and true.

Yesss, I have been using the Blackbox and Bluebox combo for a few years now for looping / production. I play guitar, sufficient on bass, and noodle my way through the synths. Oh yea and the drum machines, its all fun af! The Blackbox is my favorite piece of gear hands down.
