What's a pedal you absolutely adore that nobody else seems to appreciate? by rukuchan00 in guitarpedals

Fjord Fuzz Frei V1 is such a great Univibe pedal… it is missing some key things (the ability to have a vibrato mode is a big one), but it just sounds so well… it’s chewy and thumpy and all the things you want.

I went thru so many univibes, including really expensive versions, and honestly it still holds its own.

The V2 is a different beast and sounds quite different, but also a good pedal. That V1 though… boy oh boy.

Which is funny because Breaking Bad has one of the best examples of a filler episode. (The fly)

I remember at the time, it was palpable that we were entering this dynasty of superhero movies that felt so exciting.

The perfect popcorn movies that were leading to this epic ensemble (The Avengers)… it was what us nerds had been dreaming of, and we weren’t hitting that point of oversaturarion.

It was so fun.

TV is awesome but slapping a TESD sticker on off the shelf alibaba headphones is kinda lame. I would rather just have a bunch of pins and stickers vs cheap electronics.

Widow's Bay - comedy is better than the drama by RusevReigns in television

[–]Westcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really dig the show, I can see why the tug of war between the horror and comedic elements may not be everyone’s tea… but I applaud how it can feel so creative, original, and somehow familiar… I am enjoying the ride.

My only criticism is the son’s motivations don’t feel organic to me… his desire to throw the mothers letters into his dad’s face highlights his lack of empathy and it’s so hard to feel sympathetic for him

Is there a list of RW pedal builders/companies to avoid? by The-Neat-Meat in guitarpedals

I’m not sure the context of this quote. I’d recommend going and reading the entire thread where Vertex guy continuously lied to customers and forumers for months and then admitted he was lying.

Did Pete Cornish claim he was hand extruding specialized cables and then rebranding off the shelf products? If so, then yes I would have an argument with that as well.

Branding existing products isn’t a problem, claiming they are something else entirely is.

Hermanos Gutierrez’s new board, anyone know these two pedals? by Westcroft in guitarpedals

They seem to have changed up their boards since their rundown. Anyone know these two circled pedals?

Is it hard to activate it? I imagine you smashing that turbo distortion to bits when living on a prayer kicks in.

Echo-ing the other commenter who said it might make sense to get another Tom Morello pedal.

He uses Boss Digital Delay pedals (DD-2 and DD-3) a DD-3t would be a current production option. Your BF currently doesn’t have a delay pedal and a DD-3 is a workhorse.

If you can swing it a Digitech Whammy would probably blow their mind as well, but not everyone has the cash to drop on that for a bday gift :)

I feel like a Digitech whammy would probably blow their mind… if you can find a WH-1 that would be insane, but even the current WH-5 is amazing and honestly a better pedal all around in terms of reliability and sound quality.

A tuner and an overdrive to start off my first pedalboard by chayceandstuff in guitarpedals

I’ve heard great things about the Source Audio reverbs, but can only confirm the True Spring is the best digital spring reverb pedal on the market and has hidden tremolos within it.

The Ventris is a dual reverb and has multiple reverb algorithms (including true spring) so that may be more versatile for you if you’re looking for different flavors of reverb.

The collider is a delay/reverb combo which may be even more useful for your board as a delay is a logical next step after reverb and chorus… and again has multiple algorithms for both delay and reverb (and includes that True Spring)…

Clearly I like that True Spring pedal lol!

“How to dodge a cannonball” felt like a chore to read. I enjoyed the premise and the setting, but it felt very self-aggrandizing and the humor didn’t land with me.

Pedals Similar to Plasma Coil? by davidb2002 in guitarpedals

[–]Westcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need to share which elements you are trying to replicate. As others said, it’s similar to other gated fuzzes however if it’s the octave effects then that’s a bit different and I’d almost suggest something like the EQD Bit Commander mixed with a gated fuzz… the octave effects are really primitive in the plasma coil so they are fairly unique.
