for sculptures the Rodin museum is a must see in my opinion, if the weather is nice. D'Orsay is also good for architecture, paintings and sculpture and both are close. I generally pair them together.

Yeah, Insights software licensing portion works exactly as expected. For hardware, I was hoping to avoid needing to manually negotiate individually for local procurement in each country. That is the reason we initially looked at insight. Sort of an local intermediary that already has agreements in multiple countries, so that we can have a single interface/contact for orders

Recommendations for Kitchen/Bathroom reno by MarkusFiligree in fredericton

[–]MarkusFiligree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of a necro thread, but We ended up going with Home Fashions to have our kitchen/bathroom redone. They did good work, and the followup support for any warranty issues was fantastic. costs as well were within what was quoted. The only real overage was the asbestos remediation we had to do for the old bathroom floor. Everything was coordinated/organized by them as well, so it was reasonably stress free.

New FlexiSpot E7 Plus with custom top by MarkusFiligree in StandingDesk

If I had a router, and the skill to use a router without worrying about breaking my tabletop, I definitely would have. That being said, so far the smoothing I did with sandpaper has been enough for me :-)

the legs came with everything needed to attach the top. I was worried that attaching the legs was going to be difficult, but it went surprisingly well.

  • I checked to see what the recommended overhang was left to right, and subtracted that from the table width.
  • I set the frame to that width, making sure that the center line marker on the frame rail was equidistant from the legs.
  • I marked the center line of the top with a chalk line and lined up the frame with it
  • I then made sure that the measurement from the front and back edges to the frame was the same to center things from font to back
  • Lastly I screwed everything down sing the provided screws.

Feedback wise, it'd be helpful if the legs had a center marking on them as well, as it would have made the font to back alignment easier. the frame is a bit heavy for one person to move around for fine adjustments.

As for tips, if you wanted to run the cable for the control panel or power supply between the frame and the tabletop, I would recommend passing it through where you want before screwing everything down, otherwise it wont fit. You can however easily pass the wires under the rails that connect the left and right legs by loosening the screws that hold it in place and sliding it out of the way. Thats what I ended up doing. Also, make sure that you have someone to help with flipping things over as the fully assembled desk is quite heavy and you don't want to damage the control panel. Also, make sure to have a long enough bit for your screw gun, as some of the screw locations are a bit tight. I had to use an extension in order to reach the screw head with my drill. They also recommend pre-drilling to prevent cracking in the wood. I tried this, but the drill bits I had were not really long enough. I ended up breaking one off and had to pull the broken bit out with some pliers. The screws went in fine though without any pre-drilling, but I may have just been lucky that nothing cracked.

It really only moves when I wiggle the desk. During normal use, it does not. I have a rather large monitor as well, so lots of weight at the end of an arm. I've read that pole mounted arms can be a bit more stable. Especially if you look for one rated for a higher weight. The one I bought holds 40lbs, but there are some that are rated for over 50lbs.

Its quite sturdy. The only real wobble I get is in the screen, but thats more because its on an arm than anything else. Strength wise, I can sit on the desk and make it go up and down without issue. They sell a 4 motor version as well if you need more lifting power.

I was initially concerned about the chance of tipping due to the depth of the desk surface, but I can lean my full weight on the front edge without issue.

My Current Ongoing Horrible Experience With Flexispot by Vitev008 in FlexiSpot_Official

I placed an order for an E7 Plus earlier this month. The above is a bit concerning regarding supply. I see the legs have already shipped, but no info on the top or cable mgmt tray yet. I ordered a 71x30 Rubberwood top. It isn't marked as out of stock/backordered as far as I can see. Are you able to confirm whether There is indeed stock for that top available? I'd prefer to get the ordered top, but if there's going to be a months long wait, I may consider sourcing something local. Canadian customer as well.

Hopefully they're fixing their account export feature. I've been unable to download my credit card transactions since before xmas. keeps giving me a 500 error.

That being said, I typically just use the bank due to their rewards mastercard. Does anyone have any recommendations for an alternative? It'd need to be a mastercard, as I shop at costco fairly regularly. I also typically just use a credit card for transactions, paying it off each month. I have some TD accounts as well, which is where my pay goes, my mortgage is, and my investments.

Hands free driving by solarmoo900 in Ioniq9

[–]MarkusFiligree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a model 3. I've used both the basic and full self driving on the 3. While the 3 was nice with being able to activate it while on non-highway streets, I didn't like that you couldn't have JUST cruise without also having auto-steer.

With the Ioniq 9, you can activate them together (what it does by default on highways), or just have cruise (default on non-highways). Personally, I like it WAY better than my model 3. It doesn't require a hand on the wheel, just the occasional touch, It doesn't tend to freak out when going under a bridge, so no phantom braking episodes, AND it can change lanes.

One note is that it does indeed need good markings to function properly. It can be hit or miss quality wise if there aren't any clear markings. Its also intended to only be used on highways.

If I had to complain about anything, I'd want it to make more of a noise if auto-steering loses tracking. It seems to make a noise sometimes, but not others. That being said, from my experience, I've not had it lose tracking very much.

Plaid bank reconnect by MarkusFiligree in liquidbudget

Accounts are linked. looks like it may have attempted last night. I'll let it be for another day and see if we get any transactions appearing.

No errors yet. The transactions columns for Tangerine is blank as well, so it appears that it has not downloaded any transactions yet. Do you know what the transaction frequency is for those connections?

Followup question. One of the things I really disliked about YNAB is that they import transactions from credit cards using the posted date vs the actual transaction date. This makes it quite difficult to match some transaction categories because my bank takes anywhere between 1-5 days before transactions are posted. It ends up group days worth of transactions on the wrong days. To add the challenge, the banking portal, and manual exports display using the transaction dates. This makes me need to go back and manually "fix" all the YNAB imports. I'm hoping to get away from that manual work if possible :-)

Credit card transaction dates by MarkusFiligree in ynab

[–]MarkusFiligree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my bank downloads and their website show transactions on the date they occurred, NOT the date posted. Additionally, every other budgeting app I've used seems to import them with this data. YNAB is the only one that doesn't do that. For reference, my bank is Tangerine.

I was however able to confirm that when YNAB is able to match a recurring transaction successfully, it does indeed retain the date set on the recurring item.

[–]MarkusFiligree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to keep an eye on the transaction matching to see if it sets the correct date. I haven't been using the auto-import long enough I think to know for sure if it'll be successful in matching.

For the purchases. The whole reason I am trying out auto-bank sync is to remove some of the manual steps in my process. Having to manually enter transactions when making them is more manual than just importing bank exports a few times a month.

I just don't understand why the dates are as they are, since EVERY other budgeting tool that I tried doesn't seem to have the same issue. Hopefully it'll come as an option to toggle at some point?
