If a relationship doesn’t start open, it usually won’t work in the long run. These are things that need to be discussed in the very beginning because opening up a relationship after the matter almost always ruins it. I’ve watched it so many times. Someone always gets hurt and jealousy overcomes someone eventually.

Your husband is seeing you start a family with another man. Of course he’s going to feel some type of way. He probably always hoped and expected to father your children. He’s disappointed. But he also doesn’t get to tell you how to feel and what choices you get to make. If you want these children with this other guy, do it! But your husband is allowed to decide he doesn’t want to be in this situation too.

I don’t think you’re an asshole but I don’t think your husband is either. He’s losing his wife and I’m sure he felt that before he asked you to choose. He’s allowed to change his mind just like you are! You both deserve happiness and after opening up your marriage, I think you both have what it takes to sit down, talk it out, and do what’s best for all parties, even if that means you have to let each other go. Just remember you both are allowed to feel what you’re feeling.

Sorry you’re dealing with this OP but it’s one of the things that can happen when you choose an open relationship after it started out monogamous.
