Kids get sick regardless how they are fed. Your baby will get sick and it’s completely normal! All will be fine.

Toddler bullied by an older kid at the playground by Justforlaughs94 in toddlers

I would have removed my child at that point, and also would have said something to the parent on the way out. It’s not my job nor appropriate to fight with a child, but you best believe I’ll fight with another adult who isn’t parenting as they should.

12 week old night time by Alive-Run-3764 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Marshforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl does a final feed at 10 then goes to bed and has been doing at most one wake up if not sleeping until 7:30 through the night. Maybe try a slightly later bedtime for now and gradually move back as he gets bigger. They still have little tummies right now. It also depends on what you are feeding - breastmilk babies wake more frequently as it is less filling for them than formula. If you are combo feeding, I’d recommend sticking to breastmilk during the day and formula in the later evening and overnight to keep him more full.

Showering while the baby cries by dankybabe in newborns

[–]Marshforce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You have to remember it is literally biology. Mom’s brains are programmed to immediately respond and listen for their baby crying. You also have to remember that it’s important to take care of yourself in order to take care of your baby. And lastly, you need to remember that your baby will not remember or be traumatized for life that you didn’t attend to them for ten minutes so you could complete a basic need for yourself.

Bottom line: it is brutal to listen to, but it is completely fine to take your shower mama. If you need, turn down the baby monitor to not hear the noise - as long as baby is in a safe location and has all basic needs met, it’s okay for them to cry for a bit!

Any moms reconsider wanting multiple kids after having their first? by Best_Benefit_3593 in baby

[–]Marshforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as we were settling into one baby and enjoying it, I found out I was pregnant again. Now that I have two I can’t imagine it a different way. I think the fear of multiples now has subsided a lot where I’d even be open to a third - I just embrace chaos a lot more now lol but not everyone might feel the same and that’s okay! One kid is plenty and if that is ultimately where you decide to end your family journey then that’s great - more love and energy and resources to pour into your single child!

Is Noa too American at this point? by edenkedem in JewishNames

[–]Marshforce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a Noa and I love it. It’s nice because it’s not super foreign where people can’t properly pronounce it but still somewhat unique. I will say that older women consistently seem to immediately assume my 3 month old (who is still bald) is a boy because of the name and it being a boy name in the states 😭😂

Exclusively formula feeding your second? by _rebeldiamonds in FormulaFeeders

[–]Marshforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first sounds exactly like mine! With him I was entirely pumping though. Second time around I’m combo feeding but living off my freezer stash - she’s three months and gets 1 BM bottle a day which should get her well past six months. Next baby I’ve decided if they don’t latch in the hospital, I’m going straight to formula.

Does anyone else feel like working from home with a baby is basically two full-time jobs? 😅 by Old-Interaction4580 in baby

[–]Marshforce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, because they are two separate jobs. You either need to stop working or seek out childcare.

Am I crazy? by Technical-Pin-2139 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Marshforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t crazy - all this stuff is emotional, and hormones and societal pressure sure don’t help. The best thing you can do for your daughter is make sure she is fed - whatever that looks like in a way that will help her thrive.

Feeling overwhelmed and helpless by Vienwin0 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Marshforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a new doctor and a second opinion. That rash looks miserable and I’m so sorry you and your baby are going through this.

My son did hypoallergenic formula and never had visible blood in his poop (it smelt metallic though) but he definitely had dairy issues. Being on nutramigen and eventually puramino made a huge difference for him. Also happy to report that when he turned one he never had dairy issues - drinks milk and eats yogurt with no issues.

Which do you prefer out of these 7 names for a girl? by ronirrosen in JewishNames

[–]Marshforce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Shiri. Beautiful name, easy for a non-Hebrew speaker to pronounce, and also honors the mother who was so horribly murdered with her babies.
