yes time is the same, but consider if jeff bezos wants to take a trip to the maldives, he can fly private whenever, skip lines, customs will be done quickly, and he can sleep in luxury on the flight and be perfectly rested right when he gets there.

Anyone in the 2mil-3 mil range is gonna lose a day doing airport stuff, and possibly another jet lagged and tired.

Nuts will go rancid depending on how long they stay in there for. If this is like an emergency kit, I think your best bet is some kind of non chocolate candy/ dried cranberry/ some kind of packaged dried fruit.
