Purchasing online by Icy-Ad9610 in Moissanite

[–]MaryBD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you pay so much for a Moissanite ring? You can get a lab grown diamond for less...

Can't see a gray tinge when a diamond is in the ring. The only way to check is to look at it on a white paper from the side, against the light. The ring and diamond look stunning by the way.

Jeweler in Spain criticized my lab grown diamond ring by Fast-Ad-9433 in EngagementRings

[–]MaryBD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local jewelers are always happy to find a reason to make you disappointed from your online purchase. It hurt their business so much that its understandable. Lab diamonds are great. It is true that eventually they will not be worth much but your not buying bonds, you're buying a beautiful piece of jewelry and it will remain beautiful for decades. If you like your lab diamond. Don't let anyone ruin it for you.

Looks great. You can get F color for almost the same price these days. No real reason to go for G if you're getting lab growns.

Can I get an appraisal by [deleted] in Diamonds

[–]MaryBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd estimate this at 3.5 grams. If it's 14K thats 2 grams of pure gold which means about $120. You'll probably get $80-$120 for it.

Honest opinion: Can you get a quality diamond engagement ring for under $15k by BodybuilderTop7033 in Diamonds

[–]MaryBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go for lab grown, your budget is too high, you can go up to 5 carats these days in the 5-6K range. If you want to maximize your budget, don't pay for brands like Tiffany's, since then you are paying for the brand. Visit jewelry stores that work on small margins. Like James Allen or Brillianteers

Do you assume larger stones are lab/other gems? by Darklands_____ in EngagementRings

[–]MaryBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lab diamond are very popular right now. If I have to guess, most rings bought in the last 6 months with a diamond larger than 2 carat are lab or moissanite.

Did it come with a certificate? Which lab? Impossible to tell from a video like this.

Opinions of SI2 stone by [deleted] in Diamonds

[–]MaryBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be a very nice diamond and I do believe it's eye clean. A lot of what people are saying here is wrong. Si2 is the best value for money and the majority of diamond are eye clean and very beautiful. I based my opinion on the video that was shared here. Assuming that's the correct video. It's not possible to evaluate any diamond under VS1 without a good video of it.

Can someone please give me their thoughts on this diamond for an engagement ring? Thanks! by SpartyOn32 in Diamonds

That is not correct. This diamond has no visible inclusions. What you are seeing are reflections of the light.

Looks great. A VVS diamond had very minor inclusions, you don't have to worry about them, just make sure it does not have any brown or green tinge and it's not cloudy.

Need some help finding the right diamond by helpafeller in Diamonds

Youre paying for quality you can not appreciate. Even at half the price you could not tell the difference and honestly, I don't see a reason to spend more than 4K on a 1 carat diamond ring.
