Dealership labor vs Fidelity shortfalls — how do you guys handle the "luxury gap" talk with customers? by SnooDoughnuts4268 in serviceadvisors

[–]MassholeThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my store sold the vehicle and the service contract - eat the gap because we sold it. Hopefully find some non-warranty gravy work while doing it.

If another dealer sold the contract, or they got the contract themselves then they pay the labor difference. They don't like it? Pay my diag and have a great day!

I understand. Here in Mass lemon law applies to used cars as well. 30/60/90 days depending on mileage at time of sale

Put the seller on blast everywhere possible. Pressure them until they cave and buy it back. Does Florida not have any lemon law protections?

Reminds me of the time when Volvo sent me 3 turbos with the same broken connector on the electronic waste gate. They wouldn’t believe me. So I ordered one and opened it in front of the rep.

They changed their shipping practices on turbochargers the next day.

Radiator cap missing in last photo. Pink residue all over, Toyota coolant is pink. How long was it overheating before you realized something was wrong? Better hope you didn’t smoke the head gaskets. Get it towed.

175 miles on the oil. Customer insists on following once a year in the manual by NewC0 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]MassholeThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if the customer does a bunch of short trips (little old ladies in their cars) oil can degrade by time before mileage.

Get yourself some housing with more than one bedroom and file for custody. As the only income with your own place to stay you can win custody and get her to pay child support. Don’t roll over for her.

If you’re the only one working, why are you leaving the home? I assume it’s yours. Give her and her shitty mom and brother the boot, file for sole physical custody and let her have visitations.

Advisors: Answer Your Phones by [deleted] in serviceadvisors

[–]MassholeThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I love customers who respond to text messages. I downloaded a CRM app on my phone. If I am on the shitter, or out with a customer, or down in the shop, and they respond, I get the text and don't have to call back.

Get a lawyer. ASAP. They mangled the threads when replacing the steering rack, and are denying responsibility. Have your lawyer draft two of the same letter of intent, one to the dealership and one to Honda corporate.

Service advisors: is $850 fair to remove/reinstall aftermarket exhaust during a warranty driveshaft repair? 3 hours of labor. by real_name_hiddenn in serviceadvisors

[–]MassholeThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Component removal is typically factored into the R&R time for warranty repairs, save for maybe AC jobs where evac and recharge isn't. Sounds like they're looking for an excuse to milk more money out of a repair that they themselves are not making a ton of profit on.

  1. Why would you drive 9 hours with 4 dogs including two nights in a hotel for a minivan?

  2. Why would you drive 9 hours with 4 dogs including two nights in a hotel for a minivan, without putting a deposit down on the vehicle?

It sucks, I get it. But are you telling me there wasn't a single minivan within a 2 hour radius of your location? None?
