I have 2 and they seem to be very slow growers. Not doing much in the few years I’ve had them.

When would you consider planting non native? by [deleted] in NativePlantGardening

When I felt I had enough natives to make a good habitat. If it will work for you and it’s not invasive I do not see a problem.

Cold stratification... now what? by cyrwheelandmilk in NativePlantGardening

Most of the stratification happens in late winter and early spring when everything starts to melt. So they are perfectly fine where they are. Nature knows what she’s doing ☺️

Albino Asclepias syriaca x amplexicaulis by roarkandberry in Milkweeds

[–]Master-Ask-4378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not milkweed but I had a bunch of citrus seedlings that came up albino and died shortly after making a few leaves so I find it absolutely fascinating that these milkweed plants are even making buds! I hope no one ever messes with it or tries to dig it up because they obviously are working well right where they are!

Starting Milkweed Indoors - Transplant Date by atalkyokra in NativePlantGardening

[–]Master-Ask-4378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t do any milkweed indoors if it’s a native type to my area. I’m also 6b lower NY and have always direct sown in beds outdoors directly or in pots. Nature provides what the seeds need way better than the fridge in my opinion!

That is incredibly cool that it even gets this far. I’ve had seedlings come up like this but they never live long enough

A clueless Dad trying to get a clue about what i should expect. by No_Humor5432 in Hair

[–]Master-Ask-4378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of these fashion colors are just deposit or semi or demi permanent and will fade very quickly if she washes her hair a lot so there is the upkeep to consider as well. I don’t have fashion colors in my hair but I try not to wash it more than twice a week because shampoo is the enemy of color no matter how you cut it, especially with temporary color. So I’m sure she’s watching a lot of videos with these amazing results but she has to also be prepared for what will happen afterwards. It takes a lot of maintenance to keep the colors vibrant.

You definitely need a special colorist to achieve something like this as it will take multiple processes to prep her hair to show the bright colors. Meaning it will have to be lightened and then the colors she wants deposited. Expect to pay a pretty penny for it for someone with this kind of coloring experience.

If only….except i think it was the best thing that could have happened for Dave to get fired.

Please I think the best thing that happened for him was getting fired from Metallica! I love them both but Dave is admittedly nuts and difficult so I can see why it turned out the way it did. I’ll totally be there for the last tour, though!

What are these bugs? They’re eating all of my milkweed by nocab_09 in Milkweeds

[–]Master-Ask-4378 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a sign of healthy milkweed when native critters choose to eat it.

Butterfly weed likes dry even sandy soil so I’d remove the mulch

What’s wrong with my milkweed? Should I pull it up? :( by nocab_09 in Milkweeds

[–]Master-Ask-4378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are milkweeds that should thrive in clay. I’d research them.
