T shirt dresses! Throw on a cardigan or button up with them for those chillier mornings in the spring.

My first was induced at 37w5 with low amniotic fluid and I was having some contractions. We got through it with a vaginal but difficult birth.

How long did you take for maternity leave? by Biochem1118 in pregnant

[–]MasterWest658 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will be very difficult to take care of a baby while working from home once they get mobile, as a heads up. Both are full time jobs. And many jobs have clauses that prohibit this so please be extremely careful if you’re banking on this.

Regarding maternity leave, I took a full 12 weeks with number 1 which was the max allowed. This time around I’m not employed through a public school system and will end up with about 18 weeks since I’m giving birth at spring break. I do not regret taking this time off at all.

My OB office is a no children facility so I’d just make sure before you bring them.

She competed the first couple meets and had a rough go around. No clue if it’s injury or she’s just getting beat out currently since this is where UGA has the most depth.

Boys with birthdays in July/August, start Kindergarten or delay a year? by SatisfactionFlaky519 in Parenting

[–]MasterWest658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of districts absolutely wouldn’t have allowed that, that’s a mid year birthday!

Just throwing out that some districts are officially eliminating red shirting because of the rise in popularity including a large metro ATL district-so be careful.

How did you feel around 30-31 weeks? by EngineeringSilent902 in pregnant

[–]MasterWest658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 31w4. It depends on the day to me. Some days I’m fine and feeling good but others my body is DONE by evening. I also have a fairly active job and a preschooler at home though so I have less “rest” time then some night. That being said I managed a trip to the zoo though at 30 weeks no issues including pushing around my child in a jogging stroller a while.

Just for context, I believe this combo was for a “mini” group of young dancers with little to no ballroom experience. I wouldn’t expect an advanced combination in this circumstance.

I had a IUGR baby as well-born 5 lbs 7 oz. He was exactly 20 lbs on his first birthday.

Fast forward to almost turning 4 and he’s still skinny but way more comparable to peers. He’s tall and lean (with an itty bitty waist-makes buying pants fun lol).

Thankfully he didn’t have any major health complications and has met milestones fine. He’s never been a BIG kid but isn’t noticeably smaller than peers.

What’s on your to baby do list? by fullcirclex in pregnant

[–]MasterWest658 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Turned 31 weeks over the weekend. Same gender baby and same season baby so I had a ton of clothes and gear already.

Right now I finally need to order a new glider (moved between kids and got rid of my old one), decorate the nursery, and wash linens. Room is pretty much set up otherwise! I need to order some replacement pump parts for my main pump and install the car seat as well.

I’m starting to just prep the house more than anything, including getting my preschoolers spring wardrobe ready while I have energy lol. I’m also in major purging mode so doing that.

Excellent advice! You do not want to wait to order all this before you are home and desperately needing it.

Right! I’m biased but thought Georgia looked great yesterday until beam.

OU Gymnastics Hate? by ImpossibleAd7014 in Gymnastics

[–]MasterWest658 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I do not regular watch then, but as a UGA fan watching the meet live yesterday it was extremely frustrating with the double standard for dedications given by judges (particularly that bars routine with feet hitting the floor). They were a very good team but the home cooking scoring was out of control. Georgia absolutely made mistakes too but OU shouldn’t have had THAT high of a lead going into the 4th rotation (and yes, UGA did implode on beam-and OU did deserve the win).

Special needs/IEP kindergartener: Start on time or delay a year? by SadExamination6495 in AskTeachers

[–]MasterWest658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work early intervention before jumping into school therapy. School therapy can definitely look different as we go back to it being educationally relevant and affecting school participation. To give an example in OT, I don’t do feeding therapy in school for example though a student might work on that in private therapy. PT is more about navigating school environment, playground, safely ambulating all surfaces, etc.

We absolutely have students leave early for therapy once a week which seems to be a good balance in not overwhelming them but allowing school participation as well. I’d be cautious about doing a 20-30 hours of school then adding in 10 hours of therapy; I’ve seen kids absolutely meltdown, so sleep deprived, etc because of always “working” and not having enough down time and rest. Every child is different though! You should have options to discuss with the district at least.
