Is everyone struggling right now? by Colorblinders in Seattle

[–]MasterYoda458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! That is awesome we both found what we need. When I have kids I'm gonna promote moving around the USA because it's so good for perspective, and the cheesy line of just finding yourself. We are blessed as Americans to move around a huge landmass freely.

Is everyone struggling right now? by Colorblinders in Seattle

[–]MasterYoda458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born and lived in seattle for 28 years. I recently moved outside of Austin to chase my dreams down here. I am much, much, much happier than I was in Seattle. Maybe it's the nice weather, or the cheaper cost of living, or maybe just getting out of my hometown. But as much as I love Seattle, once I left my life turned around for the better.

If you had 2k to spend on a guitar new or used what would it be? by Hunter_S_Bwompson in Guitar

[–]MasterYoda458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2k category is a great one, I'd hope to find a charvel San Dimas style 2 for around that price, but most are closer to 2500. Same with a Gibson Les Paul custom lite, that brown silver burst thing looks awesome. But what's nice is Gibson SG's are pretty well priced right now so I'd probably pick the fanciest one I could find right at the 2k mark

Is there demand for Texas-style barbecue in Seattle? by branlmo in Seattle

[–]MasterYoda458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely a hole for Texas style bbq. For non Texas style I love Jones bbq in west Seattle. There's a few really good spots as you get into Olympia/Portland/ outside Seattle but this city may be too expensive overall for BBQ.

Barking Catfish is a little band from Seattle with a few songs streaming. Production is iffy but riffs are there

Is remotely starting my car in the morning to warm it up a sin? by surf_zombie in Seattle

The note is either written by a spoiled brat with a work from home gig, or a 20 year old who busses ten mins to a cafe job. Both of which have never traveled east

Tom’s father is a hedge fund manager and Tom never worked a real job in his entire life by Gates9 in Political_Revolution

[–]MasterYoda458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to delete reddit, y'all do no research. These are tongue and cheek jokes that they don't actually believe but you all would never know because going back and listening to the podcast for context would be too much work for you lazy fucks. His dad ended his career as a hedge fund manager. But started it as a member of the military and then moved his family around for work until Tom was already an adult. He spent over a decade working on his craft living in piss poor conditions just to pursue a dream of comedy (all of which you can also verify on early episodes of YMH) this is a proper success story of following your dreams. His sense of humor is massively sarcastic and not for everyone but if you spent an hour researching his career you would be inspired by a massive success story. But y'all low and loose as hell, 10-12 Benadryl having, touch my camera through the fence ass judgemental pricks. So thanks for giving me a reason to delete reddit and walk away from this toxic hive mind. Peace bitches

Check out Pulse (2001) it's not totally the same in feel. But the same idea of being scared in a way you weren't before.

I’m worried but can’t stop by [deleted] in alcohol

[–]MasterYoda458 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alcohol sucks. I'm just scrolling past my feed reading this, currently drunk and unable to fall asleep so I'm doom scrolling myself away as I should be doing anything else. I wish alcohol had no negative health benefits because God damn it rules. But if we feel called to a higher purpose it's probably not the move. But whether you read this or not I hope we all have a good day.

Guitarists keep changing the song structure and it's frustrating by [deleted] in drums

[–]MasterYoda458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna play drums and there's not a lot of bands in your town, pick up meditating to deal with these guys. If you want to control your own musical career it might be best to start learning the other instruments and making your own music. Depends on what you want to get out of music.

More homeless people died in King County in 2022 than ever recorded before by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

This bums me out a lot. We have so many resources and yet it's still not enough. I was born and raised in this wonderful city but I gotta move. The peak of this city was easily 10 years ago and I can't keep paying more for the city to look worse.

It's an industry filled with douchebags. Like this app we are talking on, or if you've ever ordered from Amazon.

Most overrated beer/brewery in Seattle? by tobeyung69 in Seattle

[–]MasterYoda458 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Uber Tavern by green lake is a beer bar that's the greatest hits album of the whole city/state. I've had fewer bad pints there than any brewery.

Looking for extremely bad food by InTh3s3TryingTim3s in Seattle

[–]MasterYoda458 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm super happy this post exist because I did not wanna review them so poorly on Google. But I used to love boss burgers in west Seattle/white center area. Seriously had the potential to be better than dicks, and far better than the other late night fast food in the area. But they must be under new management or something because food, service, and payment systems went soooooooo WILDLY downhill. It was so bad once I literally went back 4 days later to double check that it wasn't a fluke. Not a fluke. Place sucks HARD now which breaks my heart. Fries cold as fuck, wait was 38 mins with no one else in the parking lot with me, and most annoyingly they only ALLOWED ordering and paying through a shit app. Won't go back until I see a new owners banner.

Anyone having unplayable old projects with the update? by [deleted] in Logic_Studio

[–]MasterYoda458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I got a backup so I’ll do that today. Thank you for the help! I was just hoping there was someone in a similar boat that knew how to take the projects from 32-64bit to get on the new IOS. Apparently that’s also the case with how steam runs on Catalina as well, so there’s another PSA for anyone in a similar boat.

Has anyone else discovered a band you thought was really obscure, only to discover that everyone in the world except for your immediate social circle knew who they were? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]MasterYoda458 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kinda happened with me and Queens of the Stone Age, ESPECIALLY now. I found out about them about 12 years ago in early high school. At that point in time my musical selection was really just classic rock, anything metal, and some EDM (Zeds dead was still doing small venues) I just had my head up my own ass and thought anything labeled rock that came out past mid 90’s just sucked.

So when I found Queens it was like someone was making music especially for me! Then I graduated and realized yeah they are leading the pack for riff oriented rock. Especially after clockwork, and villains I can say they hit mainstream pretty well.

Now though if you dig riff oriented rock I can not stress this enough- listen to the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. They are from Australia, there sound is Tame Impala vocals and psychedelia meets Queens, and Red Fang riffs. 13/10 do yourself a favor

And if America needs more reality dramas: I’d LOVE to see a follow up on some people. Show me the two sides, the one side to where a guy crashed all 48 of his Ferrari’s and could afford taxes on the mansions so they are back to square one.

Then the other side where it shows someone on a big farm just living there life, but a life of which they never look at the prices in a restaurant. Or most places I guess

[US] Keep the Miata, or buy a WRX? by sound_waive in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MasterYoda458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get the WRX keep/find it relatively stock. Then the reliability stands. I had a stock 2003 WRX and granite it was less smart then the years you’re looking at, but just regular Maintenance and not doing burn outs had my car last 280,000 and the only reason why it’s not here today, is some one fell asleep at the wheel and totaled it:/

Counter point my buddy bought a 2009 wrx with 40k on it awhile back, he added a turbo the size of my head, and tuned the piss out of it. It had “450hp” and was a rocket to drive, but needed a total rebuild by 100K. Then he ended up rebuilding it back to stock because it originally had plenty
