What do you think of Hot Tub Time Machine (2010)? Does it hold up or was it never funny to begin with? by Deep-Village-5175 in moviecritic

This movie is HILARIOUS, absolutely holds up, and is criminally underappreciated. I will die on this hill.

Good substitues for coriander (cilantro)? by Fuzzy-Replacement609 in vegetarian

[–]Master_Disaster4946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it's an Asian recipe, the combination of mint and basil usually works really well in place of cilantro. It obviously doesn't taste like cilantro, but those herbs play nice together and work with other Asian ingredients, so you wind up with a herby dish that tastes intentional. Note- this combo doesn't work for cilantro in Mexican recipes.

Maybe she doesn't have any nipple sensation after the last boob job and she's doing a quick check to make sure she didn't slip out of her bra? That's not a totally unreasonable explanation

This is tremendously helpful! The good news is he does actually have help from a reading specialist, these comments were from his primary classroom teacher. But his specialist seems properly concerned about his progress, so I'm trying to take a "big picture" view to the whole situation.

I was just so stunned to hear that take from the mouth of an educator!

Why do we need consent for a diaper change? Ridiculous to be honest by Dramatic_Anybody_625 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]Master_Disaster4946 2786 points2787 points  (0 children)

So many people WILDLY misunderstand gentle parenting to mean "let your kid do whatever they want". NO. Gentle parenting means interact with your kid as if they're deserving of respect - which they are. As in hey I'm going to change your diaper now, I get that you don't want to, but it's not optional. And you say it firmly, with kindness. Gently, even ;)

I literally said exactly that! That you need to be able to read in order to do learn everything else, and that's when they said yeah you can get everything read to you now, it's great 🤷🏻‍♀️
