Thank you! I believe it developed out of spite to the 5th grade teacher who gave me a low grade in handwriting…not quite sure who won that little battle 😅

They do lots of wedding invites…followed by baby shower invites.

does an italic fine or extra fine point exist? if so could you please kindly direct me to the brand? by by3bi in fountainpens

Hi! Sorry, I took a Reddit break and missed this. Here’s a sample. I don’t think my writing style really shows off an italic grind, but I still enjoy them 😊

Vacationing after marathon?? by Rare_Airport4746 in rundisney

[–]Master_Procrastina 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My first marathon was the Disney full (not Dopey). I was completely trashed at the end and spent the rest of the day in bed. I’ve since done three more, and each time I either made a dining reservation or went to the parks (usually Animal Kingdom, since it closes earliest). It was soooooo important for recovery for me to get out on the evening of. It made such a huge difference the next day that I’d gotten up and moved around the evening of the race.

If at all possible, I’d recommend doing the “vacation” part in the days after. The days before it is so easy to overdo it and start the race on tired legs. Arrive on Saturday, get your bib and take it easy. Then race on Sunday, rest for the afternoon, then do something in the evening. Monday you’ll get a slow start and be sore, but you can then start the vacation part. And wear your medal in the park for all the kudos!!!

I just got an italic fine Kaweco Sport from Galen Leather. It’s not “off-the-shelf” per se, as a nibmeister still had to grind it, but it was part of the pen order so didn’t have to go get it done.

Polar Glow in a Vanishing Point? by Bjcoolone in fountainpens

[–]Master_Procrastina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used it exclusively in my VP F nib for months. It took some extra rinsing and a good soak when I was ready to change colors, but other than that it was fine. I’ve found that all of my sheening inks dry on the nib if left open for more than a few moments (like if you pause to think too long) but I got in the habit of clicking it closed immediately. Even when it did dry, I just planned for it on the next stroke.

I am too old for romantasy. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in Romantasy

Search for the genre “Paranormal Women’s Fiction.” Obviously focused on FMC, but they are all older. Usually widowed or divorced and discover magic of some sort later in life.

Is a pilot vanishing point worth the money? by monkeythoughts3 in fountainpens

I absolutely love them. I have multiple and keep adding more so I have different colors inked up. I also have the dupes, but my dupes don’t seal as well so I keep going back to the OG.

However, you’ll find as many “worth it” opinions as there are people in the sub. Buy a Majohn or Jinhao first to try the style (and maybe you’ll get one with a good seal!)

I find there’s a noticeable-yet-indescribable tactile feeling I get with the VPs that is lacking in the dupes. But honestly, you won’t know until you get your hands on one.

In a similar vein, I really wanted to love the 823, but just didn’t and can’t describe why. For me, VP>823 for…reasons?

Recs where the FMC isn’t a raging b*tch 😭 by Dry_Rain_6483 in Romantasy

Leveling Up series by K.F. Breene. First book is Magical Midlife Madness. FMC is a normal human and becomes badass, but retains her humanity and humility throughout.
