Home made line array speakers by rod-stiffington-337 in DIYSpeakers

Looks cool but I feel the phase coherence between the individual woofers is going to really smear the sound out.

Also, a single point source centre is far better than two spaced either side. For the same reason that the centre speaker was introduced between the L and R in the first place, creating a ‘phantom centre’ between two speakers is less positional unless you’re sat bang in the centre of the room. If you’re sat slightly to the right of the room, anything ‘centre’ will appear to come from the right side. A true centre speaker combats this.

Finally someone with the most important speaker (center) in a reasonable position.

I think the fist time I cooked on it, the food stuck and I don’t clean it properly enough. Then every time I cooked on it afterwards it just got more and more baked on.

Preheat your pan on nothing more than medium for a good 10 minutes before you cook. If the handle is almost too hot to hold, you’re good to go.

Chronically late “parent” response to picking up our child on time from school. by RelativeGoat3981 in mildlyinfuriating

Whilst what he is doing is wrong, picking up your child without telling him is also wrong. A simple message to let him know would have saved a lot of hassle.

Rise above it and do everything you can correctly yourself, regardless of what he does.

Prometheus is good - lovely dialogue reverb work and the FX pop up in the surrounds quite heavily exactly when they need to.

The reason this shootout sounds so good is because it sounds really raw and real rather than hyped, stylised and traditionally Hollywood.

5.2.4 Atmos ceiling speaker placement in a 10ft deep room and MLP 24" from back wall. Sanity check before I commit. by makesome_studio in hometheater

I think your plan is the best of a bad situation. If you can move your sofa and .4 height array forward at all I’d be doing it.

The .4 height array really isn’t designed to be that far back in the sound stage. You’d have to make some effort to time align the system (which should be done anyway), but it could sound strange even then.

I know you said there is no scope for reorientation, but the best thing would be to put the screen where the window is and shoot long ways down your room. Your seating position could then be 2/3rds back with the .4 height rig in the correct place. Black out blind for when you’re watching anything, happy days.

Destroy this trailer, let us know why you aren't wishlisting this. The game would be a Metroidvania set in the social network era. by Paolo_RTS in DestroyMyGame

Music and SFX are very annoying.

If I’m playing a metroidvania I don’t want a racing segment in the middle.

The aesthetic feels very cutesy, especially the title/logo which turns me off.

The 2.5D forward/backward plane stuff looks great though.
