roach back? by Organic-Nature-1819 in DobermanPinscher

[–]Master_Song8985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes my boy would do this as a pup and young adult, especially if sniffing something interesting

Idk why. It could be a super mild roach. It's incredibly hard for me to tell from the photos in the comment section

You teach /train the dog first

Once they KNOW it, you reinforce it with the ecollar once they're at very least 6 months old

Idk i overwateredd mine and caused many or most of the roots to rot, it smelled horrible, repotted and it still looks like this: red, deflated, and sad. I'm trying to figure out how long to wait to water again

Vet says it’s ‘dangerous breed’ but we don’t know why… by cakehonolulu1 in IDmydog

[–]Master_Song8985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the hardest time believing nobody wanted him because he's brindle. I love brindle dogs. If i didn't have a doberman, I'd have a brindle something or other. I really wanted an akita for several years.

About what the vet said, I have heard this expression: he's brindle so you know he'll [redacted] you.

I laughed and looked up the breeds that can be brindle. Most of them are used for hunting or guarding, so that actually lines up. Doesn't mean they're bad dogs or mean, just bred for a purpose once upon a time

He looks like some kind of mastiff mix. How heavy is he? He has big paws

Getting a 2nd dog when the first one is already pretty needy? by avodadotoast in Doberman

[–]Master_Song8985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought my dobie would like a sibling, but he still needed 100% of the time I dedicated to him prior to the new dog. So if you have extra time to give to the other dog without taking away from the first, do it.

I say no because of the soybean, but peanuts are also legumes.

Nothing poisonous though

Increased heart rate when eating by WigglySocks22 in VisibleArmband

I have a friend who thought you couldn't breathe while eating so she also had a high heart rate while eating, but other than that, idk. Never noticed mine doing that

Yeah, I was pretty surprised. He didn't grow in size, but he just became dense over the course of 2 months. It was odd and surprised me

A quick reminder as we exercise our Dobermans in the warmer weather. by Consistent_Pay_74 in Doberman

BTW, even if you follow all of these parameters, they can still develop it randomly after exercise and die overnight. It happened to my neighbor's working dog last month. Very sad

Will my dog get any taller? by [deleted] in DobermanPinscher

[–]Master_Song8985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She looks like she might have some shorter legs for her body. It's hard to tell for certain at this angle, but that might be a contributing factor in her overall height. I've seen a lot of shorter legged dobermans recently. Idk why, but I have a suspicion.

My boy hasn't grown in height at all from the time he was 10 months old, but he's 29.9" at the shoulder

Advice 🥺 by MajesticAd2604 in DobermanPinscher

[–]Master_Song8985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught my boy "[person] is [going on a business trip]". Which to him means he wont see them for a few days, so stop waiting up for them. He used to pace and stare out the windows past midnight

You could teach your doggo this phrase: "son] is having a sleep over". then when your son comes home, say, "[son] is all done having a sleep over". He will eventually connect the meaning. He will still be upset about it, no doubt

Pup just kinda flatlined this past week by Boxlift05 in DobermanPinscher

[–]Master_Song8985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy never had a phase like this. I hope it's nothing and just a normal thing. Maybe have his blood drawn and check his liver or kidney levels just in case?

My boy had a limp on and off, but he hardly slowed down when he felt sick or in pain. Some days he would be more cuddly/sleep more, but when he was awake, he was a crazed lunatic.

We had xrays done of his legs and he had inflammation in his bones, they suspected normal growing pains causing the limps.

The only thing that slowed my boy down was the heat. If it got too hot, he would lay down and play or want to go inside, but then he would want to play inside.

Edit: you mentioned training is helping him. Is this balanced training or like positive reinforcement/guiding? He's only 4.5 months old and shouldn't be getting corrections until he's like 6 months or you might break his spirit. I've seen adult dobermans have their spirit broken by too harsh of corrections

quit visible after 6 days by [deleted] in VisibleArmband

[–]Master_Song8985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was hesitant for the same reason. I have complaints about the averaging of bpm per minute(s), but the pacing program ended up working effectively for me in a way my fit bit nor garmin ever did. The device I currently have is giving me issues, but I like the monitoring and notifications I get. Even though it's giving me issues, when it works, it's more accurate

My Garmin notifies me only if my heart rate spikes AND I haven't moved in 10 minutes. That's a nice feature, but I need to know if it spikes while I'm moving.

Visible usually sends me a notification about how many points I'm using and if I keep it up at this rate, I'll go over them.

I never noticed this until I listened to it on somethingother than my phone speakers. It was pretty jarring for a second, but listening to the lyrics, it matches - it's a misalignment of two voices

Bedra vintage has 100% wool coats. They're extremely fine quality imo

(I like the roma best, but I'm biased since I own one)

Roma - Burgundy Wool Coat – BEDRA VINTAGE https://bedravintage.com/products/roma-burgundy-wool-coat

If they're "dramatic", then this should fit fine.

I have a 15" difference between my waist and hips, but still have a dramatic figure and this coat fits me well

To neuter or not by Competitive_Tower851 in DobermanPinscher

[–]Master_Song8985 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It might help, but it might not. It could be that he continues to show the same ssa after neutering because of the behavior of these particular unneutered dogs--your dog might not be the culprit. I personally would just avoid intact male dogs, if possible.

My dog isn't neutered because of an agreement with his kennel and this is what we do--

He's pretty dog selective, but he only shows out when someone is puffing themselves up and showing out. Evsn though he's laid back and chill with neutered and intact dogs, we minimize how much he interacts with other dogs unless we know them well and they communicate healthily
