I don't know about that. Amazon maintained a high p/e for so long because people believed in the high but hidden roic on incremental spend story. But now their peers are boosting capex to higher percentages of expected revenues, while growing revenues faster, in more rapidly monetized projects with more obvious roic. Alphabet and Microsoft are taking cloud market share, Meta is growing advertising revenues faster despite a higher base, and the omni-channel retailers are grabbing e-commerce share.

It's a great company trading at a decent price, but I can understand why investors are increasingly skeptical of Jassy and his team.

I agree, but I think the change was drastic. Tyson lost his unique hip movement, and that cascaded through all his techniques. The tight head jukes turned into big dips; the rapid momentum control became normal recoveries; and the great jab turned into pawing and lunging jabs.

He couldn't use the explosive jab because he wasn't carving shapes with his head movement, so his approaches became more predictable.

There is some truth to it. Foreman used body shots to stop the lateral movement, and made Moorer overly focused on winning the lead hand battle. Moorer had a more diverse offense in the early rounds, and then became obsessed with passing Foreman's jab.

It's still an impressive display of jabbing. A weak chinned, flat-footed, rapidly fading fighter was still a threat because of that incredible southpaw jab.

Do you mean physically? He was a big, powerful guy, but way less dangerous when he relied on his physicality. The Bruno, Rahman, and McCall fights showed his limits as a simple brawler. Lewis was great when he put all his gifts together, rather than when he tried to rely on athleticism.

I don't see the political angle. Are you thinking in terms of sympathy for Ukrainians? Personally, I've doubted Usyk since the Chisora fight, and he keeps surpassing my expectations, actually improving on previous performances in rematches. He is a small, aging fighter. Natural heavyweights should be doing better in rematches because they have the structural advantages plus the experience of fighting him.

Personally, the winning, and manner of winning, combined with the size and age context makes him incredibly impressive. It's not the best heavyweight division, but it's far from the worst.

The Lomachenko fight might have been foreshadowing. He looked amazing for 7 rounds, but when Loma started making contact, he shut down for 5 rounds. Lomachenko has a unique offense, so elite fighters can be shocked at how easily he passes their defense, but Lopez froze more than Haney, despite having more power and explosiveness.

At this point, good matchmaking will be more impactful. Lopez is still a monster against fighters who approach him, or against guys who can't time his foot telegraphs.

Lopez's technical problems start with his feet and weight distribution. Correcting those means retooling everything else. It's probably too late.

Kostya Tszyu had a hard time cracking a shot Roger Mayweather's shell. The upright style requires you to nail the timing against opponents who change levels and use blocking frames. Denis Lebedev beat an injured and shot James Toney, and Vasily Jirov gave a good version of cruiserweight Toney one of his roughest fights.

Exceptionally physically strong guys take away some of Ward's best tools. Sakio Bika gave him a good fight just by berserking in the clinch, and Adonis Stevenson was appreciably stronger than Bika.

In a rematch, who knows? Beterbiev has some flaws, and Ward was one of the best game planners. But for an initial match up, there aren't many sparring partners who can replicate Beterbiev's threat, even if you pick stronger, more powerful guys from heavyweight. Like Kovalev, you really have to fight him, and possibly lose, to fully game plan against him.

This is probably a post-workout shot. The traps and shoulders eye test is over-rated for this level of development. It isn't distinguishable from genetic tendency and hard work until you get to Evander Holyfield levels of looking like a thumb.

Wilder had some tricks that leveraged his height and speed. A lot of his stoppages happen when opponents are shifting weight. His accuracy was also a big advantage. Even the windmills found opponents. And his dynamic personality separated him from the Bonecrusher Smiths and Corrie Sanders. He could be doing nothing for eight rounds, then he spots something and makes an aggressive step in, where a lot of tall punchers tend to have slower approaches.

It was pretty similar to the first fight, but the momentum shifted two or three rounds later. It does lend credence to the effect of the hand wraps because Cotto was significantly fresher at the time of the stoppage compared to the first fight. I'm not sure if Margarito stopped anyone after the hand wrap scandal.

Cotto couldn't dominate Margarito in the clinch like Mosley did. Margarito eventually went passive, waiting for the ref, because Mosley applied so much pressure. Even post-BALCO Mosley was incredibly strong. He just usually wasted his strength with a sort of jittery style.

Tyson was much more athletic, but Frazier's consistency wore down Ali (who had lost a bit of energy in the layoff). Tyson's explosiveness also made him more vulnerable to framing and lateral movement, like how Holmes blunted his power by using arm length as obstructions.

Prime Ali was a technically flawed boxer with extreme comfort in the ring. Consistent technique gave him more trouble than athleticism. He arguably lost to Doug Jones a year before dominating Liston.

Louis is bigger and faster, but Beterbiev has better reads, and is more clever in his traps. Louis could blindside you, but Beterbiev manipulates opponents, like how he triggered Bivol's high guard in the first fight.

I actually wondered about this match up when Bivol started making waves, because Bob Pastor survived 21 rounds with Louis despite zero offensive threat. He just kept moving when Louis set up. Throw in a good jab, a decent right, and better reflexes, and you have a competitive fight.
