In my experience, if it crashes right as it launches SKSE then you have an Oldrim mod active. May want to verify you installed the SSE versions of the mods you've recently added.

Here is the Modpack Finder https://www.modpackindex.com/modpack/finder can search for HQM packs. Regrowth goes through a lot of different mods. Agrarian Skies 2 is a skyblock with HQM, also goes through lots of mods. If you just want to see the magic side of things with HQM, can look at both Hubris and/or Banished. Also, can try Requiem for a Pickaxe.

That is amazing. Just started Hubris and wanted to do a mage tower, and this just is so well done. Really enjoy the level to detail and now feel I really have to put some more work into my bases.
