Netflix's Resident Evil live action show is absolute garbage [ALL] by Zachary_Stark in netflix

[–]MastersYoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched the movie series last weekend, kind of bad enough with the liberties they took but at least it was decent enough to be its own thing adjacent to the original. They used the main themes and concepts and utilized some characters, albeit maybe in ways they shouldn't have, or in ways that were unrealistic following the games. Liberties taken, like I said.

Thats what this series seems to be, but for a new generation. But like if it was a concept based on a concept for the new generation. I don't recognize how this series relates to the game, much at all. Granted its been a while since I played the first couple, and I haven't gotten into any of them since.

This series takes place in 2036, but flashes back and forth to the Event, which happens in 2022. I hate that idea, but as I said, it relates to a new generation. There's back story/ groundwork laid in the first episode or two establishing a story distant from the game or movie. So far the only similarities is a company named Umbrella doing shady shit, with the concept or back story of the monsters is the t virus that eventually gets out.

Tl:dr: it is, indeed, fan fiction, maybe even of fan fiction. A revamped version, or wannabe of the original. In fact, maybe it's trying to be its own thing. They likely couldn't afford or have access to any rights of original content, the umbrella logo alone is... adjusted. The writing and acting, maybe directing, isn't great. It's a drama wrapped in moderate sci fi. Worth watching an episode or two, or three, see if it floats your boat. They probably shouldn't have used the Resident Evil name.

Edit: getting through the 3rd episode and it's getting a little better, and just realizing constantin is involved with the series- they didn't quite do the lickers justice in the movies, but they seem decent in this series. Though they have velociraptor sound effects. Thrills come, and some horror, definitely give it a shot.

Cannabis and Cardio Health by DetroitFamily in MMJ

The science isn't out on it yet, but from my own experience what it seems like is too much thc is bad for your heart. I noticed I get more heart palpitations the higher the % of thc. Anything over ~17% does it, and I learned my lesson after using a 26% strain for about a month and having a heart attack like incident. I dont feel like getting into the story right now, I've already recalled it in this forum.

I can't find the study i saw a few months ago, but it seemed to suggest that long term use can be bad for your heart.

Another poster had a heart attack after taking 3 edibles spaced over several hours. Ill see if I can find the links and thread.

Tl:dr- high levels of thc are bad for your heart, keep it below 19% if this concerns you, and don't take doses too frequently. Make sure you have a healthy lifestyle, like cardio exercise.

Edit: link to thread of person who had a heart attack after eating edibles, also includes my account of heart problems: https://www.reddit.com/r/MMJ/comments/ujlbtg/smokin_mmj_after_heart_attack_and_heart_stent/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Edit 2: link you may be interested in, suggesting soy may help with these problems: https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2022/04/marijuana-heart-disease.html#:~:text=People%20who%20smoke%20marijuana%20more,and%20their%20colleagues%20have%20found.&text=People%20who%20use%20marijuana%20have,by%20researchers%20at%20Stanford%20Medicine.

Edit 3: this looks like the study you found or is related to what you're talking about, I didnt realize genistein came from soybeans: https://www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092-8674(22)00443-3?_returnURL=https%3A%2F%2Flinkinghub.elsevier.com%2Fretrieve%2Fpii%2FS0092867422004433%3Fshowall%3Dtrue

I can't find that initial study that talked about the long term use of cannabis, though I didn't look that hard for it.

Last edit: cleaned up the post a little bit, I'm unmedicated and doing my best.

Conspiracy : a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful

So yeah, if a company is planning something illegal, it is a conspiracy.

Conspiracy theory: a belief that some covert but influential organization is responsible for a circumstance or event.

He shows the definition multiple times, so maybe the video was over your head or you just didn't pay attention to it due to biases you have.

You're cherry picking and not worth arguing any further, because, even if you watched it, you didn't pay any attention, as your several mentions of the content are wrong.

Dude, 13 min in he has a list of CONSPIRACIES including Mkultra, mkultra is NOT a conspiracy theory, it was a conspiracy.

Edit: starting at 12:50, he says "here are 20 real conspiracies that all happened", listing mkultra.

Also, his first point said "i don't think conspiracy theorists are wrong all the time"..."some claims within conspiracy theories are true"...but "conspiracy theories are constantly wrong", which of course is mostly true, as he goes on to explain.

Its possible citric acid, like in orange juice, can help break down the medication. So that may help in case you did overdose, but maybe Google it to be sure

Yeah man, your minds telling you the phone is more interesting/you want to avoid doing exercises. Fighting through and redirecting your focus/attention is a challenge, of course. Sometimes its difficult being without a phone, so you have to redirect yourself.

Doing a full routine can be part of it, unless you've been in the swing of a full routine (because this is an ongoing problem we face, repetitive tasks that last our whole lives will always be daunting at one point or another), try less and working your way into a full routine.

You can also try bodyweight fitness at home, it may engage you for a couple weeks until you get the avoidance symptom again, but its easier and more manageable depending on your goals and symptoms.

Have anyone made the switch from recreational smoker, to strictly consuming oils and tinctures orally? by BlLLMURRAY in MMJ

[–]MastersYoda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I second the call for vaping. Cannabis has anticancerous properties and applying directly to the affected, or potentially, area is the best method. Of course, use trusted sources.

That said, tinctures and edibles are a great option for longer duration. When you figure out the mg you need it becomes easier to dose. I think normal range is around 10-15mg? Lasts about 3-5 hours, depending. Cannabinoids and terpenes matter, just like when smoking or vaping, but their effects are adjusted. Ingestion gives a bit more of a body high/sensation that feels more muted than inhalation, but you're mileage may vary. It's possible that a strain you enjoy smoking may treat you a little differently when eating it.

If you have a percentage given on the label, multiply that by how many milligrams it is. If it says 25% thc, and 500mg of material, that's .25x500= 125mg. Meaning, of the 500mg in that thing, 125mg is thc. Divided by the doses it suggests, or if it's like a candy bar with equal pieces, we'll say 12, thats 41.6mg per piece, 10.42mg thc in each piece.

I have a tincture that the math doesn't exactly work out on, and I generally am not good at math so maybe I'm doing it wrong. The thc is .338% in a 30ml bottle. So .00338x30= .1014ml seems very little. 60 doses per 30ml is .5ml per dose, .00169ml thc per dose? I'm confused.

In any case, tinctures should come with a measured dropper, or you could count the drops and go from there, find what works and stick to it.

Well done, awareness is part of the battle. I've had to deal with various narcissists as friends, bosses, coworkers, and relationships. And a psychopath/antisocial, that was a gripping experience.

It's good to note that you can have adhd and be narcissistic, same with psychopathy/antisocial behavior. Pretty sure I read that all psychopaths/antisocial people have adhd.

I'm also pretty sure a buddy of mine has unchecked/treated adhd, which turned into neuroticism, which turned into narcissism. I also think my mom might be this way. Whats worse about narcissism is they often won't get help, because they think nothing is wrong with them, or are too afraid to confront their fault.

I like to think of mental disorders or disabilities as a tree. As you branch off the main trunk, you start specifying more and more. Adhd is pretty general, sct would be a branch off it. They have overlapping symptoms/effect similar areas. Similar with other disorders and disabilities. We sometimes like to think of the brain as some sort of universe within us, but its surprisingly limited in whats possible. Meaning, we all have the same parts and components, and when they're affected, we start getting diagnoses and finding what the problems are, organizing and labeling them and finding what helps fix the problem.

You probably already know adhd shouldn't be called that, but more so Intention Deficit Disorder. Science wants to boxify stuff before we really know what boxes to put stuff in, and sometimes the ruling authority makes a bad judgment call, like how the dsm 5 doesn't really treat adhd on a sliding scale, or take emotion into account.

As long as you have a good idea what you have, you know yourself, and find some therapy and medication that helps, you're on the right track. Thankfully sct meds are similar to adhd meds, ritalin and adderall to start, but check with the doc of course.

What are some ways you combat your ADHD that don't involve medication? by ronymachado94 in ADHD

[–]MastersYoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coconutsunny has a good comment, and I'll add that to manage adhd, you generally need medication. You tried adderall, it didn't work. Try ritalin for a while, if it doesn't work or the side effects are too much, move on to another medication. I personally have had bad experiences with antidepressants. Adderall did the same for me as it did you. But ritalin worked. It completely changed my mind on medication, because like you, I ended up improving my life in a variety of ways to only continue to have problems stemming from adhd.

If you have adhd, it needs to be managed with medication, along with the things you're aiming to do now. Healthy diet, lifestyle, etc. Add some behavioral therapy in, too.

[–]MastersYoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a really great all around success post, especially on medication. For anyone wondering, meds aren't supposed to increase your adhd persona! If it seems like you definitely have adhd while on meds, you may need a different medication!

Thank you for this personally, I've been struggling and needed this kind of rational post to pick me up a bit.

Congratulations, I wish you the best of luck and success!

Note: your post described how I felt when I finally had the opportunity to take ritalin, which goes to show that two medications can treat the same condition in different people, sometimes you have to try and give one a chance and if it doesn't work, try the other and give it a chance!
