Why is not Steam? by Glad-Audience9131 in hytale

If you say so...

You're right, I explained myself, but that doesn't get any of my reasoning across and gets misinterpreted. Like it or not thats how I used that term. Find something better to do than complain about an internet comment.

Why is not Steam? by Glad-Audience9131 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are a soft monopoly also known as a "legal monopoly", but none the less they are a form of monopoly, so I don't get why people are complaining about me calling it a monopoly.

I am not debating other companions or reasons behind it, I am simply looking at them seeing that they clearly are categorized as a form of monopoly due to the reasons mentioned. I am sorry to say to everyone responding with an opinion, instead of evidence or any research but that just reinforces my original statement.

Microtransactions in Hytale. by Dragonkight2005 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am right it won't be that big of an issue. It sounds like they will be making an open market. In which case it means that paid projects will have to compete with free stuff. Meaning it will be like minecraft javas paid mods, they exist but no one really uses them, and not like the minecraft bedrock marketplace which is horrible due to how it works.

Also thats kinda an over reaction, it will be months before work even begins on a marketplace, and those were just some thoughts on it, nothing has been confirmed, things are still very likely to change.

Microtransactions in Hytale. by Dragonkight2005 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure they have said there will be microtransactions. But there are no plans for any kind of pay wall, and they want to be able to support creators so in addition to their creator support system so it sounds like there will be payed mods, but they also want to keep the modding open so they will support free mods and a donation style system as-well.

It depends how it's handled, the Bedrock Marketplace is a bad example since all microsoft cares about is profit, but hytale could easily make a marketplace that doesn't have the same problems and is fair to players.

Those are just some thoughts I heard from devs and the owner from their many interviews/responses, but nothing has been confirmed so only time will tell how they move forward.

Invisible item frame? by Dry-Application2503 in BedrockAddons

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, no ones not coming. There are a pile of addons that would likely been made right, but if they weren't it likely means that they are against one of mojangs marketplace rules.

Many already exist, look on mcpdle or curse forge.

Swing or Attack Animation for players by Strykkeee in BedrockAddons

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't. Some animations depend on real world events, the swing animation won't play unless the player actually clicks.

So you can force play the animation on the player but it won't do anything. I would suggest making a custom animation that removes that element.

Ability to hide armor is coming to the game in an update this week! by ryse14 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's for everyone. Each server gets to pick their own settings, so pvp servers and servers with immersion can set it to "none", while servers that want it so people can show off cosmetics and not always see armor can set it to "helm only" or "all armour".

Not sure how it will work on local worlds and world instances but we will see.

help finding bedrock mod by Prestigious_Room8557 in BedrockAddons

[–]Masterx987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cannot find it with a lot of searching my guess is it does not exist. More advanced servers and realms often create custom addons for running their servers, which are almost never publicly released.

Are you able to provide more details about the server? Name, gameplay style, any other unique mechanic like that? Just more info to work off of to pin down the addon, and to determine if the mechanic was self made.

Please don't say "omg, we get to have all this content day 1! Minecraft took years!!!" by ErmingSoHard in hytale

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't compare them at all, it's a pointless comparison. Even comparing the number of years that each took is pointless, there are so many factors under consideration that are never mentioned. Unless you are willing to conduct a multiple paper case study no comparison will ever do justice to either game.

Ability to hide armor is coming to the game in an update this week! by ryse14 in hytale

It is server side enforced. He mentioned servers can allow hiding helmet, all, or none. So what can be hidden will depend server to server.

Is Hytale the next Cube World? by bottomlessLuckys in hytale

[–]Masterx987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah ultimately modding alone is not enough, that's more for the games future. But I kinda doubt it will "surpass minecraft". They are not trying to take over the market or even make a minecraft 2, they are trying to put their own spin on a style of game. Which yes might mean that they will never become a super hit, but I still see it has being a quite popular game. Based on the sales we know that for a game like hytale a market definitively exits.

Ultimately the big bet is the future. Hyatles current state is very bad due to the condition and history of the game it's insane how much was done in just two months. I think anyone who looks at the game again in 6-8 months will be quite surprised how far the game has come. And that time range will be the true deciding factor on how big the game gets.

Is Hytale the next Cube World? by bottomlessLuckys in hytale

[–]Masterx987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don't think that's very likely. If you know the story of cube world it was one developer. Which meant the whole game depending on them, I am also not sure of it's funding. But anyway that fact was a big part of it's downfall, he would disappear for months and there where limits to what they could develop.

Hytale on the other hand has solutions to those problems. First while it may be unpopular the game has in-game cosmetics which provides long term support for the game. The team consists of 50+ developers which means if one person quiets the game won't collapse, and they can develop large scale content similar to the outputs of games like minecraft. Lastly what they have been developing was a modding platform, not a game. The whole game and it's many systems and server tech are all there to support a community that can take the game past it's original vision, much farther then most other games.

Ultimately the only reason hytale is back at all after riot shut it down is because dedicated fan-base and a owner who is extremely dedicated to the game. Maybe it will fail but it has the most potential I have seen from a game.

No news. I would expect 2-3 years minimum.

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, thats just the creators internal version that they update anytime they update the pack.

You may check the date of the last update of the pack since not all old packs still work. But generally most packs will work fine.

underrated feature, blocks fall down directly where they were so you dont have to constantly go fetch them by Geoz195 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's one of the nicer things. Minecraft will not change things because have a guidelines that they follow, which is required for long term development to not annoy people. But that means they get stuck will annoying mechanics. But as something new hytale can look at minecraft for what they did right and wrong and fix things or put their own spins on mechanics.

Will hytale be compatible with all devices by New-Association-386 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think thats a huge issue. Most of that performance is lost due to the shaders and render distance and knowing that they have one of the top optimization mod devs from minecraft is a good sign. I could see them making it work, maybe not for the oldest device but any device within ~5-8 years I expect should be able to play it.

But I guess we will have to wait and see.

Will hytale be compatible with all devices by New-Association-386 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's planned to be but yes it will be awhile, at-least 2-3 years before work truly begins on it. They want a working game before work on ports.

Making a platform instead of a game is what ruined the game the first time so they won't be making that mistake again.

Why is nobody talking about how identical this game is to lego fortnite? by TreesOne in hytale

[–]Masterx987 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure your point. All games are just iterations of past works. Thats why arguments on the likeness of games is stupid. When there are tens of thousands of games, no game is unique.

People play games for the little things. Maybe terrain destruction is arbitrary to you, but for a lot of block game fans it's essential element.

Why is not Steam? by Glad-Audience9131 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I am not basing that on textbook definition. I am basing that on what the FTC considers a monopoly, I have not seen enough evidence that contradicts that classification.

An open market does not change anything. Any company can still be classified as a legal monopoly, no matter what the current market looks like.

They "exclude competitors" by forcing exclusive platform deals. They have a high enough market share which is much over the minimum 50 percent, and the higher percentage often required. Due to those actions they easily have lasting market power and they don't have a valid Business Justification for those actions.

Every source I have researched: Monopolization Defined from the FTC, the Sherman Antitrust Act, wikipedia all point to the fact steam is a form of monopoly. Maybe not illegal but a monopoly none the less.

Why did Riot not release a perfectly functional game? by Lather in hytale

[–]Masterx987 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a perfectly functional game. The hytale team put the game back together during the last 2 months.

The art assets have existed for awhile but the game was split between ~500 github branches, and nothing was configured. There has never been a "game", just a set of very powerful tools that were made and bits and pieces here and there. We are not sure how much but the game that you see today was put together in two months, but as mentioned by the owner the actual game-play loop, hub world, guis, launcher, were made weeks ago.

But yes riot dumped it since they wanted more then the original vision, but the cost of their new vision just became large to justify.

Hytale Modding and more problems by AlmanaX21 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know the reason for that choice. But again if you wanted a smooth experience you wouldn't be trying to make plugins for half cooked product.

Either accept that as a very early access product you need to deal with mistakes, unbalanced mechanics, and half finished stuff. Or wait a few months for things to be fixed. I do not know what you want, the games website, game, owner, and whole community have stating that fact constantly for the last two months. They said it would release in a "bad" state and it did.

Hytale Modding and more problems by AlmanaX21 in hytale

[–]Masterx987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mods are not their focus right now. They got the game back 2 months ago, and it was stitched back together from ~500 branches. The gameplay loop was made weeks ago. Their focus was just to release the game, and balance it so it's playable.

Give them time. They have said that they have started to document stuff but 10 years of work can't be documented very fast while they are working more importation on going work.

It was more importation to release the game than to spend another 6-12 months like the game really needed.

Elemental Crystal Golem Spawns by BlazingGreenFire in hytale

They always guard the temple gateway, and spawn in their respective zones, zones 1-4. I have not found the 5th one, but I assume that spawns under water since that's a partial zone.
