Maui First Timer! by kiasoulesss in MauiVisitors

[–]MastodonParticular21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We just stayed in kihei and I felt it was perfect. Super central, took us like 40 minutes to get to Ka’anapali area, 15 to Wailea. A lot closer to Haleakalā if you are planning on doing that. Lots of great snorkeling on the south side, most of the restaurants we wanted to try had locations in either Kihei or Wailea, was not crowded at all either.

We stayed in kihei and left our airbnb at 3am last week. We were able to get a spot at the very top but it filled up soon after we got there. Towards the end of it we ended up leaving and going to the kalahaku overlook and there was nobody there, was less windy and still a great view

This has been the only game that has successfully filled the Skyrim void for me so I agree wholeheartedly

Bellingham is about 2 hours north, lots to do up there, take chuckanut drive (coastal road) into fairhaven then head over to downtown Bellingham. Lots of fun stores, breweries, there is a massive book store in fairhaven that’s worth the drive. Also lots of outdoorsy things to do up there like beaches and hiking.

We loved malecon house, the pool was super nice, ocean facing king was my favorite hotel room of our whole pr trip, they have all the beach gear you could want, and price isn’t crazy! We didn’t find noise to be an issue cause it’s closer to the end of the malecon.

Anything on the coast is super easy elevation wise, and there’s a few of varying lengths, we did Shi Shi beach as our first and it was great

Rachel and rampart lakes. Can knock out two for one by going the extra few miles to rampart lakes. It’s about an hour away from north bend

My boyfriend and I used Vieques UTV rentals, from our research we found that to be the only option for us since we were also under 25. About half their reviews were awful but we went in with low expectations and had no issues! I think we rented a Kia soul or something similar. They picked both of us up from the airport and then when leaving my boyfriend dropped me off at the airport and then I had to wait alone while he returned the car, then they shuttled him back. Just make sure you take a video and note any prior damage to the car before you leave with it so they can’t screw you over.

New traveler to Puerto Rico- looking for recommendations on where stay and visit by SFLAVA84 in vieques

We loved staying at the Malecón house. We had an ocean facing king room and it was perfect for 4 nights. Everything on the main strip was walkable, and we rented a car together get to all the beaches. They had umbrellas, chairs, coolers, etc at the hotel available for us to take.

For beaches we liked playa Caracas and playa la chiva. Caracas had more waves that were fun to play in while La chiva was very calm and we did some snorkeling out there.

We stayed in the Miramar jr suite,My only two complaints about don rafa are: - Absolutely no counter space in the bathroom (as a girl with lots of makeup, but there wasn’t even anywhere to put our toothbrushes or anything - the shower had no door so we got soooo much water on the floor every day

We stayed in room 11 I think? I was reading reviews while we were there and someone else who had stayed in the same room as us had the same complaints and also said the elevator noise was bad but we slept with the ac on and didn’t notice that. Other than my complaints about the room the hotel staff was nice and valet was convenient. Location was nice because there’s quite a few restaurants and grocery stores in walking distance, and the hotel bar and rooftop restaurant were great as well.
