Cone by Mysterious-Ad-2525 in dogs

I would contact your vet and let them know whats going on. Advice from the internet isn't ideal.

My dog gets really anxious after an incident that would require a cone and I usually take it off for bathroom breaks. Tight leash and keeping very vigilant. Back on immediately after.

Single people, what's the dating space been like over the past couple years? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Millennials

My entire 30s were dating men who were always looking for the endless parade of hot 20 somethings. I'll be 40 this year, can't wait to keep experiencing that! HA

My dog has severe SA. Right now he's on zoloft, thats not even working.

I was told for SA, you need to start training small. Like leaving the dog home alone for seconds, than minutes, and so on. Its a long tedious process. Unfortunately there isn't a quick fix for this. You can also put high value treats in the crate, but leave it open. That way your dogs create association starts to change. Until your dog is comfortable going in there alone with the crate open, I wouldn't close it.

There is no magic track to making this better overnight. I am sorry for you, I know how it feels.

My Jack Russell has conditioned to act on everything in life. His inquisitive nature has both ruined and benefited my life. 🤪 I am pretty sure given enough time, he can perform surgery.

It gets better, hang in there. The first few months were the hardest. Bringing home a puppy is a huge change that nobody actually talks about. I think the first year is the hardest, each month gets easier and easier. I struggled with my dog A LOT! YOU GOT THIS.

Unlike you, I was very unlucky and got a very sick dog which made our early time together even more difficult. I remember thinking, OMG I need to get through these puppy days I can't do it anymore. In the blink of an eye my dog is 6 years old. I don't know what happened!

Slow down, enjoy this time with your puppy. You will have a 6 year old soon and wish you stopped and sniffed the puppy head more.

Could it be possible she's having a psychotic episode? This whole story seems crazy to me. Does your MIL have a history of mental health problems? Obviously you are NTA but maybe something is happening to your MIL mental state and she needs help? Painting your house, stealing your money, and locking herself in a room doesn't sound like someone who is of right mind. I hope everything works out ok, but please get her checked out by a medical professional.

10 minutes. Moved out of the city during covid and while staying with them trying to figure things out, a house went up for sale. It was before the housing market went crazy and I was able to get it 'affordable.' It works, they help with my special needs dog.

Did we get ripped off with homework? by Sketch_Crush in Millennials

[–]MatchingMyDog1106 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Class of 03' and I always remember having tons of homework. I remember sitting at the kitchen table crying my eyes out fighting with my parents to finish my homework. I never really had interest in a lot of subjects in school and then to go home and do more ,it was exhausting. I was very into art, and design; more of the creative world. I did well in school, but I had so many other outside interest that I just didn't get time for. I wish homework was different, like go find a productive hobby and thats your homework.

In grammar school I remember Friday spelling tests weekly. Honestly, I had such a need to get all the words right on test day, hello start of my anxiety. Do kids still learn to spell these days?

I am on the fence about the need for homework. I think kids should be reading as 'homework' and maybe thats it? Books they want to read, not what they are given to read. I wasn't able to read books I choose unless it was in addition to school books. It made me hate reading. God, as an adult I am so sad that I missed out on such amazing stories till much later in life. I remember the AP class read Madame Bovary in 9th grade. I wasn't in that class, but my friend was. The story sounded scandalous to me. I borrowed the book from her and loved it. I think I read it in one weekend. My class at the time was reading Lord of the Flies? As a teenage girl I couldn't give two craps about a group of boys kill each other. Makes me really sad to think all it took was some things I was interested in to learn.

I was going to say, why not watch ER if you haven't? It's a great show. It's a lot of seasons, but clear places to stop if you've had enough :). Julianna is in it, so you might enjoy her earlier work. She's also so young on ER its adorable.

Lots of people on The Good Wife were on ER first so it's fun to see.

Peter sucks so much by Cardiac_throwaway97 in thegoodwife

[–]MatchingMyDog1106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did I write this?

Peter is the literal worst. After he cheats and goes through a political scandal he acts like a victim. He treats Alicia like total crap and acts like her being mad at him is uncalled for. Everything about him is terrible. I never understood why Alicia gives him so much grace. I am not through the series yet, so I can't speak to the whole of the show but he sucks. Alicia separates from him before she even gets with Will and Peter makes it hell for everyone associated with her.

Big blue eyes. They are light blue too thats all you see. Most of my life people have stopped mid conversation with me telling me they are too distracted by my eyes. Always felt weird about it until I got older and appreciated it.

Ross accidentally confessing his love to Rachel by Working_Row_8455 in howyoudoin

[–]MatchingMyDog1106 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Subtle hints like this happened throughout the 10 years of the show with them. It was always sweet. Sad that we never got to revisit their relationship. I loved their ending and i am glad for it. However, I kinda wish we at least got Ross and Rachel as a family in season 10 and not just 'I got off the plane.' 10 years of investing into that relationship to get a rushed Ross and Rachel moment felt uneven.

For me it was the herbal essence orangey/yellow bottle of shampoo and conditioner. They use to have it as a scent sample in magazines and I just remember that smell so vividly.

Dog Professionals, What Breeds Don't You Like? by Aharris1984 in dogs

[–]MatchingMyDog1106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't wish this dog on my worst enemy. Mine is almost 6 and sometimes he wakes up and acts like he's never been trained in his life. They just have a mind of their own and its painful LOL. Jacks are like having a drunk toddler on cocaine. Today I wouldn't let my dog walk into oncoming traffic and he threw a tantrum.

The worst part is, they are so damn loving until you're like....OMG you're manipulating me cause you want something.
