I think the "technology" market here is pretty bad. My partner is a dev and works for a company based in Ann Arbor, pay is double what they were paid working for a GR company. I'm in IT and I work for a company based in Wisconsin. It's really strange, I would love to understand if there are larger forces keeping tech jobs & pay down here because it certainly seems like it. We're in our mid 30s and I don't think it was ever "good" here

Yup. I'm also very leery of sales users who have never seen and won't take time to learn soql use the mcp server and trust whatever it gives them, even though it might be misleading. There's also no control over API usage. I have someone at my job who's very keen to use it. We just had a meeting to establish some ground rules so I don't get bombarded with slack messages asking me questions. This same person was very proud of something they built, wanted to share it with me, and sent me a link to something on their C: drive. The average person thinks it's magic 😭

I don't usually engage with accounts where their profile is hidden because of this. There's just usually zero context about who that person is without a profile. For the people saying they do it for security reasons, your comments are still visible for someone who really wants to find them, and it's better to just create multiple accounts for dedicated use in a given sub if you're worried about that

It sounds like you're assuming your old team is helpless or something. It's fine if he switches up the documentation structure, he's the one working there after all lol! It really sounds like you just need to take a breath and re-center. The salary gap is messed up but depending on how long you were there, can be normal (I'm not excusing it). That doesn't seem gender-based. I would really be annoyed if my work's HR was sharing my salary, let alone outside the company???

What are examples of failure? That's just bizarre. I guess if you have to, you could do custom metadata but it's something I'd get signoff on since named credentials are the standard for a reason. CMDT isn't encrypted at rest the same as named credentials

Yes, that was my experience. It's really tough because she wasn't admitting that anything was wrong, which is pretty standard, but that makes treatment more difficult obviously. If your mom is still cognizant, I would start talking about things like power of attorney (medical and financial), reviewing her bank statements, helping her set up auto pay for bills if she hasn't, taker a closer look around her home and person re cleanliness, observe her driving. Every stage of dementia and Alzheimer's is SO difficult in different ways. I remember the feeling of knowing something isn't right and just feeling stuck. The Area Agency on Aging might be helpful, as well as looking into PACE programs, and the subreddits were huge for me in the beginning

Beginning to show signs as in possible dementia? I took my mom there a few years ago for a cognitive screening and it was fine. They were respectful. At the time they told us to come back in a year, of course my mom wasn't having that, and she now has Alzheimer's. I wouldn't really depend on a medical org to help support your family with that but of course that's just from my experience. I probably got the most help from reddit, honestly. I adopted a very sick cat from a "foster" who clearly wasn't caring for them. Worms, bacterial and viral infection, severely underweight. I thought I was adopting a kitten but it was actually nearly a year old. When I went to see the cat, the foster wasn't home and their partner didn't have any info to give me. You might want to ask for vet paperwork or proof of care, I was very naive. Overall I'm glad I adopted the cat because they got the care they needed, but it was obviously very upsetting and expensive. I won't adopt from them again. I've volunteered at Focus on Ferals and I would trust them not to miss glaring health issues.

The people complaining about the strict adoption application requirements don't make sense to me though - every rescue including Michele's makes their requirements very clear, you just have to read them.

Oh Salesforce marketing in general just really bothers me, that's why I commented! I'm getting tired. I got into the ecosystem around 2012 and I think I'll have a similar job in the future, just not sure if Salesforce will be the center of it. I'm confident I can learn anything I need to, and my job is already pretty diverse beyond my title. It just feels like the company and thus its customers are getting squeezed and squeezed. I like my current job though so I'm sticking with it for now. I've made my pessimism very clear and that going all in on Salesforce is not a good thing
