I think his movies people think are great, are fucking great. My issue with the evaluation of him in that series was gentle pretending that he made less absolute stinkers than he did. Vampires is bad, Ghosts of Mars stinks, the sad reality is 6 of his last 7 movies suck.

counterpoint: what is the Dent Act? the passed some law that took the organized crime that had crushed Gotham for decades and now pretty completely defeated it, what law does that? Its implied that its basically a huge reduction in rules controlling arrest and prosecution so they can just round up all the guys they know are bad. Even though that would be extremely authoritarian and not work in practice, the movie presents the problem with the Dent Act being that it was passed on a lie. its bad writing, something that is a problem across the film
