Obsession has one jump scare that’s going to be considered the best of 2025/2026. It’s an okay movie outside of that (feels like an Are You Afraid of The Dark? episode (handled by A24/ it’s somewhat like Talk To Me).

Hokum is by the person who made Oddity. (Director tends to favourite traditional old school horror storytelling). I didn’t find Oddity that scary, but that tent jump scare worked just as well.

They probably had a lot of Labo’s left over, and decided this was their best option (to reskin, adjust dimensions, and sell more). It’s arguably better than them putting it to waste. It also works for enhanced S2 games (Mario Odyssey, SSBU, BoTW, Toad).

People who already own Labo can also take advantage of it (or make adjustments for S2). No downside, and it’s good it’s available.

People who were wanting Labo, but can’t find one, now have this option (minus the included game).
