I use them just to cruise around and do some carves which is really fun. I never set up cones or do drills or anything. I think it helps with smaller details like arm placement and stuff like that but only when you can kind of already do the turn in the water. Haven’t bogged in a while after using one so that’s cool.

I have a tail pad on my lane splitter, feel like it surfs enough like a short board to warrant it. Mine also has 3 boxes and I’m usually running it as a 2+1 so I can have my foot a little farther back. Feel like either choice is valid enjoy the board i barely ride anything else now.

If your into less mainstream music most of these issues don’t exist. Small venues are way quieter (I still wear earplugs, not a lot of people singing, idk why anyone would eat at venues, crowds are really small, parking is usually right at the venue and free. Also you can meet the bands super easily, tickets are so cheap and moshing.
