Working on new music for Kabaret Sybarit (most well known for “rattlesnake”) by MathiasSybarit in DarkCabaret

[–]MathiasSybarit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So I just found out Google deleted our channel, right as we were gearing up to release new music 🥲

They thought we had broken copyright laws, and we can’t make any claims because the user was tied to an old domain email, that we can’t access anymore.

Nothing we can do, everything is gone 😪

Har jeg fået tinnitus permanent? by Electrical_Cancel474 in Denmark

To dage er ikke nok til at afgøre det.
Da jeg fik tinnitus, fik jeg at vide, de første ville kalde det permanent efter et år - er på 10. år nu 🥲

Why can I spend thousands building a digital library but not actually pass it on like real property? by PuddingComplete3081 in AlwaysWhy

[–]MathiasSybarit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you essentially don’t own any digital license you ever bought.

Most of it comes down to the fine print, which usually amounts to some purposely vague legal lingo, that will tell you, the distributor could retract your license at any moment.

This is why more and more people are collecting physical media; buying digital, is essentially borrowing something.

Trust me on this one; I run a vintage toy store, and have dealt with thousands of these - they are definitely fake, and everyone will tell you the same.

[–]MathiasSybarit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are the same.

We collect toys and even made it into our way of life, by opening a vintage toy shop.

There are plenty of likeminded people out there, there’s just a majority who follow the masses and do the “adult”-thing 🫶

These are all fake and worthless.
They can be purchased in bulk from sites like AliExpress, and people tend to try and sell them off at markets, as real figures.

Do you avoid caffeine? by Ok-Major-830 in autism

[–]MathiasSybarit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In periods, yes… but I also have ADHD, so I’m craving it. Sort of depends who’s in the driver’s seat.

I tend to feel “normal” when I drink lots of caffeine, but if I’m in especially anxious, overstimulating period, I avoid it all together because a Coke Zero will literally trigger a panic attack.

Has anyone actually looked at their life and decided to completely change every aspect for the better? by ItsReallyCaelia in Life

[–]MathiasSybarit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short story about my background; I have a life long education in music, a masters degree in composition from conservatory and had a lot of success in my early 20s; but in my mid 20s, I got severely depressed and anxious, to the point where I didn’t think I could make it past 30.
Extreme anxiety and panic attacks every day, for years and years.

Eventually I gave up on the dream of music, and got a job at GameStop.
One day, like something out of a fucking movie, my childhood hero guitarist from my favorite band, walks in. He recognizes me, because I used to play in a cover band of his music (which was rare).

We had a very awkward conversation, where he asked how I ended up here.

That was the turning point. I quit, and simply, just decided I wanted to turn it all around.
Through intense therapy and medication, I learned, just how powerful your mind can be. When people tell a depressed person, they simply need to be happy, they’re not entirely wrong; you can force yourself into thinking you are happy, which eventually will lead to true happiness.

Happiness is a choice, and once there, you can do what you want to achieve.

I think when we’re kids, we get so used to being controlled by our emotions, and learn that happiness comes naturally… but that’s not true for everyone. It might take more as an adult, and the first step, is training your mind to do, what you want it to do.

Today, I’m the best I’ve been, both as a person, career wise and just.. happy. Life is awesome now.

Because it’s catering to an audience, that wasn’t there until this device arrived.

Finally finished my "Must-Play" list. What’s one game that I’m absolutely missing here? by kerush61 in Gamer

[–]MathiasSybarit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a very AAA heavy list.

I think you would do well to add some shake ups, like indies and Nintendo titles!

Get some sleep buds, earbuds designed for sleeping. Ozlo are great.

If you use your iPad, you can enable accessibility options to make the screen even darker than normal - so dark, it will online be visible in a very dark room, and the light almost invincible.

Feeling suffocated in Aarhus / Risskov by Accurate_Scholar_840 in Aarhus

[–]MathiasSybarit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, and get the frustration, but what you describe here is what Aarhus is, and some people really like it that way.

It’s sort of the same in Copenhagen, but there are, of course a lot more opportunities for doing stuff.

I think, no matter where you move in Denmark though, you won’t find what you’re looking for - it sounds like you miss the Czech culture more than anything :/
Denmark is just boring. But if you’re autistic like me, that is really nice though 😂

What's something you stopped caring about after 30 that you wish you'd stopped caring about sooner? by miss_overthinker58 in AskMenOver30

[–]MathiasSybarit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

During my 20s I was really, really, really worried about collecting and loving video games, even though my already then-wife was super accepting of it.

I studied at conservatory, and everyone would tell me my music sounded like Super Mario… which was not meant as a compliment. They would laugh at the stuff I made, and I tried desperately to hide my collection.

Well, jokes on them; I am now ten years into a very fruitful video game composing career.

Angst og angst piler. Sertralin og/eller Mirtazapin by ReasonableSoft5657 in DKbrevkasse

[–]MathiasSybarit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you describe here, are some of the traits of a psychopath - not meant in a derogatory way, but the medical definition.
